Good morning and happy Saturday, Roger and all the DDRers out there!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:01am Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04am HyperDose:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04am dave wuz here:

nice work raffi! is there such a thing as breakfast tacos?
Avatar 9:04am Esther Crow:

howdy DDR crew! hi Roger!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am Handy Haversack:

Hey, HyperDose. Landlord seems to have cranked the boiler an extra time or two! I actually had to open a second window for a while yesterday. Even the cats were hot. Better than the alternative, though. I'm putting out extra birdseed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08am Roger:

rough start here, you guys let me know if you hear anymore dead air please!
  9:08am Paul in the OC:

Good morning Roger & all—foul weather set to start us off! (Though it’s actually clear here) Just firing up the griddle & as a matter of fact I’m making breakfast tacos. 🌮
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am Handy Haversack:

Seems to have smoothed, Roger, but will do.
Avatar 9:11am Esther Crow:

all good so far Roger...I came in a bit late so didn't catch any dead air!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am yerfriendpaul:

Good morning Roger and Double Dippers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am Roger:

9:13am Daybreak is teaching with the windows on open!:

No problem Rodge!
Thanks for making this happen for us every Saturday morning. Sincerely!
@Paul and @Dave - breakfast is what you make of it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14am Handy Haversack:

Yes, though now I can't remember if there were some cutouts then. Because my brain doesn't exactly work anymore, you know.

Hey, Paul, Daybreak!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14am Roger:

Thanks Daybreak! It is truly my pleasure
9:15am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

After thinking about tacos...
My mind has shifter to
cold water
Coffee
Bacon
Pancakes
Hmm...
I do think I’ll get up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Roger:

Ok well, let's start again!
Good moring LW RHino, Handy, Jan, KWilde, HyperDose, dave wuz here, Esther, Paul! thanks for being here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am yerfriendpaul:

@Roger - I came in a little late too so I didn’t hear you on mic yet. Hopefully the captain monkey will steer you into clearer airwaves
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Roger:

where the heck is dan? He is ALWAYS here.
  9:17am dan:

I’m here
9:18am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

Came in half way through Winter Party and haven’t heard you yet if you tried.
Keep fiddling
Then attempt to sing along
like another morning DJ
until we can here you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am Handy Haversack:

Good, dan. It would be scary if we had become unmoored from always.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am yerfriendpaul:

Hot chocolate is the only reason to pick up a snow shovel. Without it, what would be the point of going out there and clearing the driveway?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am yerfriendpaul:

Hear you loud and clear, Roger!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am HyperDose:

@Handy Lucky! My heat hasn't worked the past two days. Pepé (my cat) and I have been doing A LOT of cuddling by the space heater.
9:21am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

We can here ya!
Great winter set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am Handy Haversack:

Roger, a few years back Kate had a songwriting class with first graders, and they wrote an awesome song about the weather. I can't really describe the melody (I don't have the chops), but the lyrics the kids wrote were great:

Weather, weather, weather,
the weather can change.
There's all different kinds of weather,
and temperatures range.

I don't know if they ever recorded it ...

Oof, HyperDose, that's rough!
  9:23am Martinibomb:

Hellloooo Roer! I'm making hot chocolate, baked doughnuts and I got a real pinball machine up and running in my kitchen yesterday!!!
  9:23am Vt Knit Girl:

Here in Vermont it’s 7 feels like -8. Stay warm everyone!
9:23am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

Good singing!
You still got it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am HyperDose:

7 year olds everywhere are punching the air right now, Roger. Them's fighting words! :p
9:25am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

Oh no HyperDose!!!
Is there any relief in sight on the missing heat?
9:29am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

After yesterday,
today’s 17 that feels 6 degrees is practically balmy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29am HyperDose:

@Daybreak I'm in one of those faiweather landlord situations. 11yrs of a 100yr old building is enough to drive anyone crazy! Looking to move asap, just trying to find a 2br in my budget.
  9:30am dan:

Recently, Someone on Jeopardy recited the alphabet backwards
9:32am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

Hyperdose.
I’m in my 11th year in a home built in 1920, but I suppose it is different when the occupant is the owner, even when it passes from one to the other.
Where are you located currently?
  9:32am Martinibomb:

hah i'm melting butter right now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32am Roger:

dan is in the house!

Right up there with “Don’t Wipe Your Face On Your Shirt!”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33am yerfriendpaul:

My brothers and I used to like to refer to ourselves in our backwards names. Mine was Luap (pronounced Loo - op), Neil’s was Lien (pronounced Lion) and Joe’s was Eoj (pronounced Eee-oh-jay)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33am Roger:

Vt knit girl, are you knitting a duvet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35am HyperDose:

@Daybreak Please tell me you looked for ghosts in your house!
I'm in Maplewood, NJ. Looking to move to a similarly diverse pedestrian-heavy area near the train line.
  9:35am dan:

The Sorcerer in Fantasia was named Yensid, which is Disney spelt backwards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39am Webhamster Henry:

Hi Double Dippers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39am Roger:

Webhamster Henry! let the party continue!
  9:39am dan:

Saw Patti Lupone perform a few years ago. What an amazing singer and performer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am Webhamster Henry:

Thurl the Bunny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi. I like that my name is "neck" sounded backwards. Haha!
  9:46am Vt Knit Girl:

Roger no but i working on a warm and wooly sweater.
9:47am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

HypeDose, If only Boonton had a train system that wasn’t hobbled by Montclair’s train speed restrictions. The Montclair-Boonton line will get ya in but it is often faster to swing over to Denville and take the Morris Line in (facepalm!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49am Handy Haversack:

I think the differences among the cryptids are just geographical and cultural among the human societies what have crafted each in their imaginariums.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am yerfriendpaul:

I love the Yeti and Sasquatch correspondence! Great job, KWilde!
9:50am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

HyperDose,
The previous owner of my home (homeownership is weird) Karen did likely die in the house, poor woman, but she planted such lovely scheduled perennial gardens all over the yard that those are the only thing that haunts us...
with loveliness.
  9:50am KWilde:

Thanks yerfriendpaul!
Avatar 9:51am Esther Crow:

yeah, fun tune @KWilde! Impressive you are doing one each week, too!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am HyperDose:

KWilde You're too good, keep 'em coming!
  9:52am KWilde:

Thanks folks! I'm open to suggestions!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am yerfriendpaul:

LCBD just recommended a great short film called “Nian” , which makes perfect sense with this Sasquatch/Yeti set! It’s 12 minutes long and really beautiful
Avatar 9:55am Esther Crow:

on YouTube, yerfriendpaul?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am Roger:

Thanks YerfirendPaul, I will look for it!
9:59am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

Oh hey all,
I don’t usually make TV recommendations,
BUT
I cannot more strongly recommend the show Ted Lasso than anything I’ve seen in the last several years.
If you have bought an Apple device in the last two years you probably got a free subscription and said to yourself what is this hot garbage there’s nothing really good on here to watch.
However, this show is 10 1/2 hour episodes so far and it is a tour de force, masquerading as a silly fish out of water comedy.
It reminds me of one of the favorite things I’ve seen great writers do over the years, take the stupidest, most inconsequential idea or scenario and pour love into the characterization and you will have something magical on your hands
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59am yerfriendpaul:

Hey Esther! Here’s the link... 9to5mac.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am Handy Haversack:

Daybreak, we watched it and liked it a lot. It was very touching and heartwarming for the reasons you say -- loaded with love from the creators. It reminded me some of The Detectorists, which is I think almost a perfect show.
Avatar 10:01am Esther Crow:

thanks yerfriendpaul!!! Daybreak- yeah I prob can't access that? I have all Apple products but nothing new...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01am HyperDose:

@Daybreak Thank you for the information! I do like Boonton, nice and quiet and the car shows are fun. I want to leave NJ, but for now I just need to get out of here.

Karen must have been a lovely woman. It's nice that her spirit lives on through her passion for gardening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am Ken From Hyde Park:

Bird news: The first snowy owl in 130 years visited Central Park this week. www.twitter.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04am Roger:

  10:05am Steak and Ale:

Good Morning Rodger! Good morning Gang!

"You mean the ADORABLE Snowman!" -- Monsters Inc.
  10:07am ?:

yeah.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am HyperDose:

So we live in a world where the station manager is a talking egg and a DJ is a sock. I love WFMU! <3
  10:09am ?:

he is cute.
10:09am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

Esther, hopefully Ted Lasso will get moved out or loaned outside it scurry the habitat.
Given that they have extended my wife’s free trial three times so far, without her asking, the most recent was supposed to expire in early February, then they sent an email please keep enjoying the trial until July 31... I think it may end up being one of the more affordable streaming services out there.
But everybody has a different idea of affordable and we don’t often think of 10 1/2 hour shows as being worth 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 or $10 or whatever dollars is worth it just because of the context.
However, so many people just jump in and out of the streaming services to watch what they want for a small amount of time. If you are nimble it is a good way to enjoy a lot of good media without getting bogged down as you would in a traditional cable situation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am yerfriendpaul:

How about a groundhog song since groundhogs day is around the corner? Or maybe a song about Puxatawny Phil’s family?
  10:11am Ruby Nordstrom:

10:17am Daybreak was grooving in bed!:

Probably Esther.
It is a weird service. They offer too let you watch stuff on other services. Trying to make themselves a one stop for all your subscriptions?
Ted Lasso was one of their originals, so you prob need a month subscription.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17am Webhamster Henry:

@KWilde the subject doesn't matter - but it'd better be a sea shanty! Oh alright then, sing a shanty about Zoom muting.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am HyperDose:

I have a folder of almost 100 instrumentals I've made over the past few years. I can upload them to Drive and you would be more than happy to use them as you please. They're just sitting there haha

Hmm if I had to narrow it down I'd say most of it falls under chillwave/trip-hop/experimental. Heavy on the sound design. I like running around outside with a field recorder and seeing what I can find!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am Handy Haversack:

Look at the time! That went so fast!

Thanks for another great Saturday start-up, Roger! Much appreciated.
