Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Handy Haversack:

Sceleton Scott and the Wednesday Wonderfuls!

I don't want to jinx it, but we seem to have got through almost a whole Wednesday with just the normal, background-level existential emergencies and no new, er, emerging ones. Really lowers the ol' pulse rate a bit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Michael 98145:

We soldier on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Stanley:

Earwig-o!
Hey Scott, Handy, Michael!

Hi Scott! Tilted-headed loudspeaker admirers!
Avatar 3:02pm spodiodi:

good afternoon, Scott Williams and company!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Phillippe Bastille:

You must've sent them this way, Handy. 5 alarmer this morning, 12 alarmer coming up in a few minutes. Thank goodness for the Charlie respite to get my head on straight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Hey Scott and future everybodies!

@Handy - There does seem to be a suspicious coincidence of sociopolitical emergencies and Scott's show. Scott- can you explain yourself?
  3:03pm David in London:

Evening groovers. And howdy Scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Krys O.:

Greetings!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Stanley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Handy Haversack:

Michael, Stanley, Rev Rab, Bas, spodi, tim, David, Krys O., HYperDose: heck of a sound!

tim, maybe Scott is just innocently sandwiched between two Ken portends. If anyone's gonna be the harbinger of something, you gotta figure Ken has a decent shot!

Speaking of which, Krys O., Ken played your remix today! Sounded fantastic!
Avatar 3:05pm sispus:

exactly!
  3:06pm David in London:

Handy, Stanley, Spod, Phillippe, Krys, Tim, Bas, it’s a feast of groovesomeness with you lot around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Stanley:

Ken is coming up at six, so we're not off the hook, yet.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Krys O.:

Been one of those days at work, but the time to head home is nigh.

I tripped on the feet of my coat rack by my desk and fell before lunch. No major injuries besides a scraped knee and above all, no one else saw me. Oy.

  3:21pm headcleaner:

it's very nice to be here, scott. btw I'm so touched that you played my favorite song last week
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@Krys - OOf! I'm glad your OK. If this helps at all a few years ago I tripped and fell while exited a building on a university campus. An undergrad helped me up, dusted me off and said "there's a step there you know."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Stevel:

The dancing puppets gif on the front page moves perfectly to this Jon Camp (and perhaps to almost anything.)
  3:22pm BH:

hopefully you knocked on wood while making that post, Scott
Avatar 3:25pm TDK60:

Hi Scott. I like the music. I got some new mathks. I do also have mittens.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Krys O.:

Ack, tim! That's exactly why I was happy to fall unnoticed. The endless snark that would ensue would be worse than any pain.
Avatar 3:26pm spodiodi:

my hand just froze
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Stevel:

Krys O.: Marc Maron has a bit about never going on a hike without his wallet, in case his body needs identified. I've had this minor anxiety for years. Every passing year, I walk more like I'm navigating a minefield--at least that's how it feels in my head. I'll be 60 in July.

@jason - fear is part of the karaoke experience. it's always been a blood sport, in a way
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm The Oscar:

Busy working, but yay Anton Maiden! I don't think I've heard that since high school. At this point I feel like I respond to "classic WFMU" outsider stuff the way baby boomers respond to, say, the American Graffiti soundtrack.

I don't think I've heard this ELO cut before. Around xmas I picked up the first 2 Roy Wood albums. Those are pretty great.

Thanks for the good thoughts, folks. Here I was all anxious about not falling on the slippery sidewalk this morning and I go kerplop on the carpet in my office.

Loving the orchestral pop, Scott.
Have you ever played any Ford Theatre?

Mr. Radio captures the fleeting moment on FM radio that was on the cusp of changing forever.

Krys, pretty sure I've played Ford Theatre; I think Matt Garbaggio is a fan

@Handy -- your aunt sounds amazing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm McGroovey:

I love everything Roy Wood, and most things Move/ELO/Idle Race.

Yes, Roy Wood was on the first ELO album, and a tiny bit of the second. He was the main guy in the Move, which morphed into ELO after Jeff Lynn joined (from the Idle Race). ELO was supposed to be a weird album-, oriented side-project of the Move, but when they started selling more ELO records than Move records, the Move name went away, and then Roy quit (because he wanted to make even weirder pop records, I suppose).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm Franco Twinkie:

AND "You Got The Silver" -- one of my favorite songs EVER
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm McGroovey:

Huh. The only thing I know about Zabriskie Point if that Pink Floyd was involved. I guess I kinda also knew that Jerry G was involved, which might be why I've never sought it out, but I actually like this track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Haha ... I thought there was a mic break coming up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Franco Twinkie:

Slug, I first saw Zabriskie Point in Beckman Auditorium on the campus of Cal Tech. It changed my world view - for a minute.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Thanks for the history, McGroovey. That's really informative.
  5:21pm David in London:
