i enjoy Lazerus very much. i had watched the Friday night broadcast as well. I liked the movie man who fell to earth as well and was curious what Bowie and Enda Walsh would do with pt. 2. i can understand those who find the plot lacking and the allegorical puzzle aspect pretentious but the character of Newton is interesting enough for me to be engaged.

Enjoyed the songs and music. All the performers were excellent with the two leads, Michael C Hall & Michael Esper being especially outstanding both singing and acting.

what about you?

some of these Syd lyrics would work for a kid's show

Your show, Irene Trudel, and Come to the Sunshine are all on streams; why not on WFMU main stream/broadcast?
Avatar 8:12am
Julie:

I would not attempt to read the mind of the progam director. irene & I both used to be on regular WFMU. Andrew has always been on stream, I think he is not local.
Avatar 8:13am
Julie:

btw Irene did a GREAT fill in last night, all Bowie/Barrett/Sandy Denny tunes.

David in London:

Brian, I have ‘West Hackney Recreation Ground’ just round the corner, which I persist in calling ‘the rec’, much to the bemusement of others.
Avatar 8:17am
Deborah:

@Julie

Well, I don't get it. I listened to Irene on WFMU and know that your show was broadcast. Does listener input matter?
  8:18am
FLman:

morning! no offense but is Julie just filling in for Carol this?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19am
Stanley:

I agree david. Calling an open green space with muddy football pitches and maybe a children's play area, doesn't come up to the lofty title of 'park'.
Avatar 8:20am
Deborah:

Thinking about Fiona Apple's 2020 album. Might have to get it alone for the song that says "You can kick me under the table all you want/ I won't shut up..." Sort of my song with my ex.

@FLman You can go to the special programming page here and click "upcoming fill-ins" at the top for the schedule: www.wfmu.org...

Scott Walker’s birthday was the day after Bowie’s too. There’s a great clip of Scott phoning in a birthday greeting to Bowie on his 50th, and Bowie being almost reduced to tears by it. Available on a known video streaming service...
  8:23am
David in London:

Stanley, actually, to their credit, Hackney have made it into a really nice little area, but it will always be the rec to me.

Kim's dad Marty once recorded a song called Abergavenny, for a placename song it is not in the league of By the Time I Get to Phoenix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31am
Brian in UK:

Possibly the worst placename song that I know is Kettering by Principal Edwards Magic Theatre.
Better get back to painting.
