Comment: I tend to write stories quickly, then voice them and and air them without delay. I suppose I fear that if I thought about it too long, I'd second-guess myself out of ever playing them on the radio. I could certainly do to re-write, take more time, fix plotholes, and generally improve them. In the case of Jobin's Mother, I explored familiar horror, sci-fi, midwestern gothic themes. I tried to read this story with my real voice. Then I read it with the faux British voice. I think it might have been better Americanized, because it's a bit confusing as to why a British narrator would be telling such an American tale. That said, I hope you enjoyed it on some level. Thanks for your comments about The Dead Deer last week. I should do more small town stuff, but you never know what's going to come out until you start typing. I guess that's the fun of it.
