A new set begins: May Baskets - (WIKI quote) - 'May Day was also celebrated by some early European settlers of the American continent. In some parts of the United States, May Baskets are made. These are small baskets usually filled with flowers or treats and left at someone's doorstep. The giver rings the bell and runs away. The person receiving the basket tries to catch the fleeing giver. If they catch the person, a kiss is exchanged.'
Comment: As a couple oif listeners (and Station Manager Ken) have pointed out to me, I have some kind of 'phasing' problem with the output of my show, due to the weird configuration of antiquious gear and tangle of cords I use in the production of Dusty. I thought I had it figured out, but then Joe Egan pointed out to me that it sounds poorly during the interviews. I am trying to figure it out. I have ordered a new dual-cassette deck (well, an old one, like I always use, on EBay) and a new micro-cassette recorder (well, a new discontinued Radio Shack model that I had to track down from a clearing house online). Please let me know if you notice problems with the sound of the show. I am irked by it and trying to isolate the prob. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you listen on HEADPHONES, it should be OK. It is for me.

Comment: At this point, police had seperated the marchers at the entrance to Wall Street. I found myself on a stretch of Broadway which was suddenly deserted, yet lined with cops. The voice you hear was coming from loud speakers positioned along the protest route, but I couldn't actually SEE the speaker. He was at Battery Park. I really can't explain it, but it was all very dystopian and surreal.

Comment: Thank you VERY much for listening to this episode of The Dusty Show. I appreciate it. I have been struggling with some serious audio problems in recent weeks (months). A few of you have noticed. I have taken some steps to remedy the sitch, so hopefully you'll note improvement soon. I have to say, doing this show is such a roller-coaster ride sometimes. I find myself fluctuating between glee and doom quite regularly - one day feeling on top of the world and the next like I suck and need to hang it up. The audio problems drive me f'ing crazy, seriously. It's really hard to keep this old gear operational, especially since I am a Luddite to begin with. OK ... enough whining. I hope you are still with me. Drop me a line sometime. I love hearing from you. dusty@wfmu.orgUntil we meet again. take care my friend and ... Always Remember .... Clay PigeonNYC51299
