A new set begins: Trouble Is Evident from the Outset
Comment: I was intending to play a lengthy story that I had written a couple of days before the show was to air. 'The Bat Bite.' As you can hear, however, The tape deck in the studio began to malfunction. At first, I assumed it was my cassette that was defective. Although I did use a brand new, normal bias cassette for this episode, there are always inherent dangers with cassette technology. Jamming, binding, breakage, etc. Turns out, though, that the main cassette unit in the studio had begun to malfunction the previous night and was deemed 'Out Of Order.' The alternate cassette deck is the one that was 'warbling' as the episode began. Needless to say, a couple of minutes in to the show it was evident that I would have to bail out of the cassette situation and fend for myself 'live.' I must say that ultimately the fault is mine. I should alwas have a back-up CD in the event of cassette failure. I didn't.

Comment: Wow. What a weird show. That will teach me to depend on a $1.25 cassette from CVS. Anyway ... despite the difficulties, it was fun. Thanks to Scott Williams and Fabio for sitting in and helping out. Therese, too. And to the callers who gave so generously of their chit-chat. This is the last show of the summer season. Kind of sad to see it go. I had fun with it (always like the summer schedule). Next week begins a new Dusty Show season and I hope you will make it a part of your week. I really appreciate your continued listening and support. I realize I haven't named the e-mailers in a while. That said, I certainly DO read all of your e-mail and it is always the highlight of my day to receive word from you. Here is the address: dusty@wfmu.orgHave a great week ahead and enjoy this magical fall. Life is so good. Thanks again, take care and ... Always remember ...CP - NYC - 10/09
