A new set begins: Beatle-y jangle with touches of melancholic dream rock populates the music of Benjamin Cartel. After many years playing with the Kaiser Cartel duo, Benjamin went back to the solo life, playing with longtime bandmate friends Mike Cohen and Kieran Mulvaney, along with drummer John Brodeur. Cartel's latest, 'Flickering Light,' is filled with sweet folk-rock hooks and poppy melodies. Benjamin Cartel and Friends play a live set for WFMU in advance of a Rockwood Music Hall gig on July 2nd.
