A new set begins: Nick Drake, Bert Jansch and many of the classic Brit-folk pioneers exert more than a passing presence in the music of Scottish songwriter and guitarist Gareth Dickson. However, Gareth's intricate playing and warmly dark vocals clearly create their comfortable own path through this well-traveled folk world. Dickson has been sought after as a sideman, touring extensively as Vashti Bunyan’s guitarist and as a solo artist supporting Juana Molina and Isobel Campbell among others. Gareth Dickson visited WFMU on a brief trip to the US and played a few of his tunes for Irene.
