A new set begins: Conversation and live performance by Robyn Hitchcock
A new set begins: Going solo once more, and following a bit part as Laurent Tokar, a sinister operative in Jonathan Demme's remake of The Manchurian Candidate, Robyn Hitchcock was in town in over the weekend for shows in Brooklyn and Hoboken. Mr. Hitchcock, resplendent in purple trousers with a red shirt as well as a chartreuse one, kindly took the drive out to the WFMU studios for a live set. Unfortunately, he didn't want to be photographed, and unless I can figure out how to download a still shot from a DVD, you'll have to take my word on how great he looked. Robyn showcased a few tunes from his newest album, 'Spooked,' on YepRoc and a couple of surprises.
