Live performance by Barbez

(David Kamenstein: bass, Dan Kaufman: guitar, Carl Maguire: accordion, Josh Matthews: drums, Danny Tunick: vibes, Meredith Yayanos: violin, Ksenia Vidyaykina-Gest: vocals)

Borrowing from equally from European dancehall/cabaret, tango and Russian folksong traditions is the Brooklyn band, Barbez. Kurt Weill, Astor Piazzola and even Tom Waits would be welcome members in Barbez' twisted little orchestrette. Since completing their first full length CD with vocalist Matteo DeCosmo, Barbez is going in a new direction with Russian born dancer-turned-vocalist Ksenia Vidyaykina-Gest. Their self-titled CD is available through Dan Kaufman (P.O.Box 162 Cooper Station, NY NY 10276) or through their website: http://www.barbez.com
