[3] The radio show for N5M3, the Next Five Minutes Tactical Media Conference in Amsterdam was called "Wreck This Mess: Radio Emits Itself"
Self referential radio, psycho-radio-graphies, deep statical archives, radio hypnosis and unconscious radio dérives...Where radio emits itself & declares itself a Temporary Audio Zone. It was broadcast during the first day of the conference and thereafter found itself in auto-pilot (continuous auto-reverse on overnights) at both Radio 100 & Radio Patapoe in the days/weeks following the conference. And continue to be periodically rebroadcast. Notion: To allow radio to refer to itself by emitting its own sounds in a collage format of overlapping radio references, voices and noises using one cassette, a cd player and an old radio that will feed back and funnel its broad bandwidth - itself - back into the frequency 97.2. Babel & non-linear sense. People will hear excerpts by accident / coincidence / chance. The radio equivalent of Zen Satori or an instant of surprise that leads to illumination...
[4] "V-1" on Asphodel. Highly recommended. One of the best sounds in NY. www.asphodel.com
[5] "Used Record Pile" on Knitting Factory Imagine the Kingston Trio on psychoactive mushrooms or |spike Jones meets Phil Ochs.
[6] "Stonehenge" on Shimmy Disc / Knitting www.knittingfactory.com Imagine naughty post-Metal machine Music DNA shredding anti-tunelessness from Japan. Both 10 years ahead and behind its time.
[7] "Playing Chess With The Former Artist"by Gawk www.walrus.com/~offshore Gawk, with the bassist from Elliot Sharp's Carbon, creates the dramatic tension between bucolic countryside that can at any second turn into a land torn apart by war.
[8] "Bass Invaders" on Word Sound www.wordsound.com From a great label in Brooklyn producing the heavy grubby sounds that our inner ears hold so dearly.
[9] "Jungle" on Knitting Factory www.knittingfactory.com Schizo combination of old and new (sounding) jazz.
[10] "Static" on Brooklyn Music Limited www.bmlentertainment.com creative use of BPMs plus youthful reuse of noise. This label combines punk attitudes, dance beats, and clever uses of noise.
[11] "Noiz York June 1, 1999" is a live scan of New York's buzz and rumble that enters you and takes years to detox from. Self Released.
[12] "Ebioto on Knitting Factory www.knittingfactory.com is that strange modern jazz in that, although derivitive from all the right places, it seems to have its own character
[13] "Noisecore Volume 1" Mixed by Doormouse on Brooklyn Music Limited www.bmlentertainment.com Snotty youth noise that goes punk, hardcore, thrash, noise trash 70bpm & 30db better
