[night of the big crowded benefit for Radio Patapoe 97.2 FM at the Entrepotdok squat in the heart and spleen of Amsterdam. Performers included Ein Kleine Wasser Muzik who play with ... WATER, Levende Ritmebox (Living Rhythmbox), an accordionist and ex-member of Soft Machine, many punk and noiz bands including Pane and over 600 in attendance who absorbed some 3000 bottles of beer. The squat is a very formidable outpost for resistance and culture and a meeting place for the world's nomads. It has featured world music(s), Jaap Blonk and The Ex. I have also seen the Guy Debord film SOCIETY OF THE SPECTACLE there.

Radio Patapoe is an autonome pirate radio station without master or hierarchy which has been around since the late 80's in one guise or another. (It's location remains obscure and unimportant). It's value remains incalculable and uncertain. It's radiomakers unrepentant and famously obscure. It's main unstated credo is total freedom with the hope and desire that total freedom leads to humans recuperating their own lives. But there are no manifestos.
