Brian Carpenter of Ghost Train Orchestra Discusses Moondog

Moondog was blind, dressed in Viking regalia, slept on 6th Avenue in New York during the 1950s, and was a musical genius who left behind a monumental catalog of fascinating works spanning a dozen genres. Moondog's music was re-envisioned by Ghost Train Orchestra and Kronos Quartet on the recent album Songs and Symphoniques: The Music of Moondog. On Weds. Feb 28th, Brian Carpenter, leader of the Ghost Train Orchestra, will visit Irwin's program from 4–6pm to discuss the collaboration with Kronos and bring Moondog's music to the airwaves. Unreleased recordings from the project will be included in the musical offerings. Ghost Train and Kronos will perform the works of Moondog live at New York's Town Hall on April 16.
