I started as a young 'un in the Sixties, tending the bar at The Old Wah-Wah & Sceptre, the pub on the corner of Carnaby Street. Stevie Marriott, Jimi Hendrix, Marianne Faithfull, they'd all pop in for a quick drink. If you needed of pint of light and bitter, some time away from Andrew Loog Oldham and his mad ideas, or just an impartial verdict on the acetate of your new album, I was the barman for the job.

I'm mostly retired now, but I still do the occasional shift at The Flange and Frigate. That DJ Georgy Girl, she's a real diamond.
