What did the NSA employee who couldn't get out his driveway during a massive blizzard say to his boss? "Sorry, can't make it to work today. I'm Snowed-in."

Somebody just posted this on the playlist for my show (that aired this morning). I'm cutting/pasting it here just in case anyone reading is having 'relationship problems' :
Fri. 7/5/13 6:06pm julletia fiyong:
I am Julletia Fiyong a citizen of Mexico but now recide in Numbai India,,i have been in a relationship with fiance for seven years, he suddenly started behaving violently and when i tried correcting him, he beat me up and broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before five days, that my ex will return to me before five days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the fourth day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him, that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster who helped me with my own problem and who is different from all the fake ones out there. Anybody could need the help of the spell caster, his email is Ugbakhuanspelltemple@gmail.com you can email him if you need his assistance in your relationship or anything: Ugbakhuanspelltemple@gmail.com

A couple of people reading this probably aren't too shocked by Snowden's 'revelations' about the NSA. TWENTY YEARS ago in the Grinnell library I was surprised to read in some lefty magazines about the NSA monitoring/recording massive numbers of phone conversations worldwide ('Echelon', etc.). We made paranoid jokes in our Cowles suite about it for a few months, then pretty much stopped thinking about it until now, I'd guess. So I guess I'm not feeling either 'surprise' nor 'outrage' (since I'd been assuming this has been going on for decades anyway).
Although 'they' did go so far as to demolish Cowles a few years later, so maybe I shouldn't be saying this here...

Today as I was leaving school the entryway security guard shoved his hat in my hand and told me to man the front desk for him--he had some quick personal matter he needed to handle. So, during my five-minute stint, I tried to keep up a faux-intense demeanor and glower at everyone. Meanwhile, as I demanded and 'inspected' I.D.'s, I was thinking about how pretty much the same exact thing happened on a Seinfeld episode [but with a doorman].

WFMU's 31-Days-Of-October is our radio station's 'stealth' fundraiser to stealthfully (i.e. off-the-air) deal with end-of-the-year issues... There's been (and will be) loads of special programs, including my show next Friday (from 6am-9am) on WFMU's web-stream that will feature The Manasquan High School Chorus's jaw-dropping 1982 double LP rendition of Jesus Christ Superstar played in its entirety. If you'd like to support the station and my show, click on this widget:

Hey, I'm back on the WFMU schedule. If you'd like to hear this increasingly assertive and confident radio-persona I've been practicing in front of the mirror daily for about a year, then listen to my new slot at www.wfmu.org starting Friday, June 15 from 6am-9am (East Coast USA time)
WFMU's new Summer Schedule 2012 begins Monday June 11! Some old shows return and some new people join our dysfunctional radio famille. The summer lineup runs until November 12th.
