This song also lacks all the Elvish schwung. It is very netjes.
Avatar 12:53pm
worldsworstrecords:

You were right, Jan/Julio!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Julio Eclectias:

Yes, the Fouryo's were far too netjes. They finally found out, when they opened for The Stones in 64 and called it quits...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

The bashing orchestra. Before this show I have never heard of 'em. I like it.
LOL @Jan!
Avatar 12:55pm
Mr Fab:

Hi Jan, and posse. That’s interesting, Dutch has changed that much just since the ‘60s? I don’t hear English changing much. Of course, slang comes and goes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Julio Eclectias:

Can you just imagine and audience expecting The Stones and getting The Fouryo's first!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Julio Eclectias:

Yes, the pronunciation on national radio and TV has changed dramatically and also the average youngsters speak very differently from 40 years ago.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

@mr. Fab, Yes, pronounciation here in Dutchyland has changed a lot. More letters were 'swallowed' at the end of words, ("Lopen" became more like "Lope-") Diphthongs were shifted from clean sounds to contaminated with even more vowels. "ei" became closer to "aai" en "ou" shifted to "aauw" It is ugly and sharp. The old pronounciation is sounding very dated, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm
Julio Eclectias:

Hi Mr Fab, btw. What has happened to my manners...
Avatar 1:02pm
worldsworstrecords:

I take it from the images on the sleeves that at some point the Fouryo's became the Threeyo's...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:03pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

@WWR: number four is in that box. Was too ugly for the pic.
Avatar 1:04pm

hahaha, of course PK!

Albertus Petrus Enricus Gerardus Westelaken (2 September 1949 – 4 June 2015), better known by his stage name Albert West, was a Dutch pop singer and record producer. He was the lead singer of The Shuffles from 1963 to 1973. He was born in 's-Hertogenbosch, North Brabant.

The Dutch were really quite good with Prog. I keep on being surprised.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Julio Eclectias:

Yes, Once we got the hang of it, ;-)
Avatar 1:17pm
Mr Fab:

Yes, prog grew from European classical influences, I think, so if you were raised in Europe you kind of had that in your blood. Unlike American prog, stuff like Zappa came more out of jazz and avant-garde.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

nice analysis. Mr. Fab.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I get some Reggie Watts vibes here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm
Julio Eclectias:

Yes, the Tielman Brothers already released their 18th century rock in 1960, so I mustn't downplay The Dutch efforts to integrate classical music into rock
