It was a day in the early oughts. I was in the volunteer room stuffing envelopes. Hova was in the studio interviewing Strummer. When they were done, he brought Strummer to the volunteer room. I was sitting near the door and Hova says, "Joe, this is WFMU's volunteer room, FMU is pretty much powered by volunteer labor." Hova then gestures towards me and says, "and this is Robin..." I smile at Strummer, and extend my hand. Strummer smiles back and shakes it. I say, "I'm very pleased to meet you. I love your music." Strummer then shakes his hips a bit and says. "well all right!" It was so nice to meet him. How I wish he was still with us.

SCL, not really, this guy came down from upstairs in the same house. He's pretty much an alchy. It happened once before not too long ago from the guy across the hall, of whom I don't care so much for. I reluctantly lent him my phone because he lost his and wanted to get is service transferred to his old phone. plus he was practically begging me. so I gave in.

I hear that this year's Ignatz awards will be live-streamed due to C-19. Australia-based Eddie Campbell won an Ignatz several years ago but they wouldn't mail it to him. He found out why when he traveled to the US to pick it up. The award is an actual brick!
