Good evening, again, everyone! Hello Rich!

Fox:

When you have a free moment, would you have any advice / a reading list for my pursuits of regaining my joy of comics?

My Ellis experience 20 years ago really burned me and I wasn't really able to enjoy comics like I used to. Granted, I also went broke at around the same time, and I was disappointed in comics turning into movie pitches instead of the Vertigo / Kitchen Sink Press future that I had envisioned for the medium....
  12:26am
rich:

hi fox you are no longer upside-down?
Avatar 12:26am

I had to take a break. My feet started going numb.

Hi, Rich and squirrel-mates!
Avatar 12:29am
Fox:

I love comics that have a real sense of rhytm. Alan Moore is great at that, but so is Bendis. I loved his AKA Goldfish, even though the art was crap.
  12:32am
rich:

saga; paper girls; read sattouf's arab of the future volumes; marc bell and glenn ganges assorted work
Avatar 12:33am
Fox:

Is Saga really worth it? It seems, from looking at it, like painfully thin metaphor.
Avatar 12:33am
Fox:

Pretty covers, though.
  12:38am
rich:

it's like jon j. muth's moonshadow which i always liked. it can seem cute sometimes but overall it's a decent read. the black monday murders is also a good read, vertigo-like in a good way
  12:39am
rich:

and that is riad sattouf, spellcheck does not like riad

Thanks for the links -as always, rich -i love that you do it! but i don't like cookies, and instagram wont let me zoom in, or scroll down very far, because i don't have an account... so i often take your suggestion but duckduckgo image search.
these are a few of my favorites. please forgive me -just, these may or may not be on those 2 websites linked.

Thank you for the recommendations, Rich! Do you have any classic comics that you feel are not recognized for their brilliance?
  12:43am
rich:

feel free coel i used to avoid instagram until it became the only way to see a good representation of some artist's work since many of them no longer have web pages.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:45am

i've been frustrated a few times. not yet enough to sign up though!
Avatar 12:47am

The lack of website for an artist to have makes me sad, but at the same time, not having to wrestle with website maintenance and instead spending your time actually making the content is understandable.
