Oh there were some doozies from Europe in the 70s. When I was a kid in Honduras, apparently nobody had any sense of appropriateness, so they'd play trailers for the latest Emmanuelle/Venus in Furs-type movie, full-on nudity, right before family movies, theaters full of parents and their kids. Was kind of glorious actually.

David: The Lincolnshire Poacher, now there's a haunting little major-key melody. One of the things the stations were thought to be sending were numbers for so-called one-time pads, a theoretically unbreakable cypher (ie you need the key to decipher it, otherwise impossible).

the 880 is a great radio. as i have a satellit 700 i never went that far up the food chain. i have a satellit 800 too. and two 800s new in sealed boxes i planned on selling (estate sale buys) but haven't gotten around to it...
