Brian in UK:

Hello David and those sadden by loss.

Sorry to have missed the Mory Kanté tribute. Sabou is a beautiful call and response record. Pathetic end, as he could not return to Paris for urgent medical treatment. Puts me in mind of Sory Kandia Kouyate, also from Conakry who died too early.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:34pm

@dutchtheo, Jimmy Cobb played on my first jazz purchase; Coltrane Jazz.

I think my first was also by Coltrane, on an Italian record, I grandi di jazz with this Naima, My Favourite things, Olé and Giant Steps
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:43pm
Brian in UK:

I used to know a chap called Roly Kerridge, who always was tapping out a beat on whatever came to hand. When I had a copy of Akwaba Beach the drummer was Roland Kerridge. Turns out he also played in a pop outfit called Re-Flex and lastly with Gilbert O'Sullivan. Poor soul died of I believe a brain tumour. Another gone too soon.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 4:43pm
Stanley:

Glad to hear that, Sem. We're okay. Finding a couple of positives each day. Today's - had a good night's sleep and Viccy cooked supper! Both unusual but nice happenings.

Hi Brian.

Brian - still lots of work on. Made my weekly trip to the office to pick up/return files, do some payrolls and furlough grant claims.
I avoided the beach. I cannot understand people's thinking crowding the beach, queuing up for ices and so on.
