Hello everyone :) Hi Otis!

Welcome Herk, and all cool ghouls!

Martinibomb:

I heard someone try and do karaoke over the top of this track
Avatar 3:02pm

Knock knocK
Avatar 3:02pm
Otis Fodder:

Great album. Karaoke, haaaa!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm
Kat in Chicago:

on board the flying saucer! LOL Martinibomb, sounds like a bad idea
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm
Rich in Washington:

Love this record!
Avatar 3:03pm
Mr Fab:

i never understood the ending: the flying saucers are gone. But the flying saucers are still around. Huh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm
Rich in Washington:

I love Albert Brooks' fake break-in record.
Avatar 3:04pm
BC Sterrett:

Kind of a hissy record sorry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm
Webhamster Henry:

All saucers, all the time in the Jungle Room.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm
solo mon:

Hypnotic rage yes please
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm
Rich in Washington:

My copy's hissy, too. Some of those spoken records are really tight, groove-wise, to allow more time per side but as a result, they often don't sound so great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm
StringOFperils:

You Phoes get off my grass !
Avatar 3:06pm
Mr Fab:

Ha, that's great - after all the breathless descriptions, he's like "I dont' buy any of it." Then goes back to the saucer stories.
  3:07pm
joe:

‘Ello folks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm
StringOFperils:

He was killed. But he's still around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm
Rich in Washington:

Drove me nuts. I remember ripping a great crazy religious record and there was this persistent clipping/distortion sound and I ended up tearing my turntable apart until I realized it was the result of trying to cram 28 minutes on one side of an LP which resulted in it sounding awful. Super common with older spoken word LPs, unfortch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm
solo mon:

He’s just jealous he hasn’t been abducted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm
Rich in Washington:

Long John was Art Bell back in the day. He at least stuck to his somewhat skeptical stance to the end, rather than Bell, who just never doubted any of his guests.
Avatar 3:08pm
BC Sterrett:

Hello there Joe, String of Peals and Solo mon, Rich Fab Webhamster Kat
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm

Hi joe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm
solo mon:

Hi bc hi everyone else!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm
solo mon:

Is it weird I like the hissy record, I like degraded sound of all kinds tho
Avatar 3:13pm
ARB:

Speaking of Art Bell, that simulated sound of what it would sound like if you hucked a cat into Mel's bottomless hole, what a sound bite that is
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
Rich in Washington:

Me too, solo mon. Degradation is underrated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
Rich in Washington:

I like how most UFO related spoken word records start out with a barrage of electronic noise.
Avatar 3:16pm
BC Sterrett:

Hello Jan :)
Avatar 3:16pm
BC Sterrett:

Is true Rich! And some anti-drug and hypnosis records start with Halloween sounds
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm
Webhamster Henry:

My heart can't stand the shocking facts, etc. etc. etc.
Avatar 3:19pm
Mr Fab:

i wonder if Spacebrother has this record? He's done at least a couple all-flying saucer record specials on his show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
Rich in Washington:

Ronald Coleman! Did the aliens also have impressive, Ronald Coleman type moustaches too?
Avatar 3:19pm
BC Sterrett:

Pre-cognitive intuition. Just like how the glowing orbs and craft at Skinwalker Ranch know what you are about to do before you do it. Or so I've heard...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm
Rich in Washington:

My favorite UFO records are the batshit crazy ones by Will Jima, which I sadly don't own. They're going for a mint these days. If I ever find one in the wild, I will probably scream out loud and everyone will think I'm nuts.
Avatar 3:23pm
Mr Fab:

Huh. Aliens wear sweatshirts/pants. Guess traveling all those light years demads comfy clothing
Avatar 3:24pm
ARB:

Nina!
Avatar 3:24pm
ARB:

Perfect!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm

Diggin' this UFO vibe, BC!
Avatar 3:24pm
Mr Fab:

"Nunsexmonkrock" is a perfect album.
Avatar 3:25pm
Otis Fodder:

Checking my nose for organic implants at the moment.
Avatar 3:25pm
ARB:

Mr Fab I agree, I never tire of it, I'm impressed every time I hear it
Avatar 3:25pm
ARB:

"I wonder if we can make soup out of this"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm
Rich in Washington:

I hear if you microwave your head, it shorts them all out.
Avatar 3:26pm
Mr Fab:

Paul Schaefer plays on it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm
solo mon:

Nina Hagen Daz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm
Rich in Washington:

Yes. It's easily my favorite Nina record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm
Rich in Washington:

No way! Really, Mr. Fab?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm
solo mon:

Nina is so wonderful but yes this album is transcendental
Avatar 3:26pm
ARB:

Nun of her others compare, but at least she nailed it once
Avatar 3:27pm
Mr Fab:

Yep, his pre-Letterman session days.

He also co-wrote "it's raining Men."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm
solo mon:

Yeah I love Paul in New York album is supposedly about him
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm
Rich in Washington:

I remember some of the pre-letterman band members played on a Link Wray record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
Rich in Washington:

oh wow. My copy's missing it's insert/liner notes. Dang.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
Rich in Washington:

Lydia!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
solo mon:

She loves ufos, and sings about them a lot. She knows they communicate w us when we fall asleep in front of the tv
Avatar 3:29pm
diabolo menthe:

eh I like that LL cover
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm
Rich in Washington:

and this is my favorite Lydia album.
Avatar 3:31pm
Mr Fab:

it's weird hearing Lydia actually attempting to sing melodically, and not getting all "no-wave" and whatnot.
Avatar 3:32pm
Mr Fab:

Spacebrother Greg met Nina Hagen at a Roswell event. he got his picture taken with her.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm
Rich in Washington:

I love her and Rowland S. Howard's take on Nancy & Lee's Some Velvet Morning.
Avatar 3:33pm
diabolo menthe:

Rich, that's a great one too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm
Rich in Washington:

Love this song!!
Avatar 3:35pm
ARB:

I love her duet with Clint Ruin covering "Why don't we do it in the road"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh yeah! I forgot about that one!
Avatar 3:35pm
Mr Fab:

He started playing guitar with his "rock group."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm
Rich in Washington:

Jeee-SUS!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm
Rich in Washington:

Love is all I need, and two kinds of speed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm
Rich in Washington:

It took me years to find this record. I was obsessed with getting a copy of it. Finally, my pal Dr. Zomb/Toby gave me one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm
StringOFperils:

Paul Ekness, of Toronto's Dick Duck & the Dorks, was the Paul in Nina Hagen's life in the early 80s. She met him here while she was here to do did the gig I saw in '82 at Larry's Hideaway (which was amazing, because it was a tiny barroom).

colin:

This is a great show.

Been digging Desert Oracle too, similar vein
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm
Rich in Washington:

I love it when people pronounce robot like Roe-BUTT.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm
Rich in Washington:

ROBOTS ARE STEALING MY LUGGAGE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm
Webhamster Henry:

Isn't that Mason Adams, the guy who sounds like Mason Adams?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
Rich in Washington:

God. This is totally new to me. I had to google Bert Tenzer. Apparently a TV producer, also pioneering video rental store chain owner.
Avatar 3:46pm
Mr Fab:

I have a 10" with a similar sales pitch disguised as a sci-fi story - a "time machine" that is eventually revealed to be a camera. Same ad agency, I imagine?
Avatar 3:48pm
BC Sterrett:

Bert Tenzer is behind these and did quite a number of them for products and salesmen
Avatar 3:49pm
Mr Fab:

I'm mentally rewriting the phrase "The Robots That will Substitute For Women" so the grammar isn't so awkward.
Avatar 3:50pm
Otis Fodder:

I just made a note for, caloric.

That Bring the Record Back is like the 1x1 invisible pixels in your advertising email: it proves you opened it and at least loaded the images, if you didn't actually read it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm
Rich in Washington:

Wow. Those Tanzer albums look great. So odd. I have some sales type records with the 'return this record' thing on them. What a weird concept.
Avatar 3:57pm

Fantastic First show Herk!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm

great show BC!
