Avatar 2:16pm
Linda Lee:

that's why there's a beak.
Avatar 2:16pm
Domenic:

Enjoying the percussion.. are they using real bones to make the music?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm
Jan Turkenburg:

aha, never thought of that. I thought it was meant to scare people off!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm
Jan Turkenburg:

LOL, Domenic!
Avatar 2:17pm
Linda Lee:

scare off the illness? maybe! but it was practical too.
Avatar 2:18pm

I used to collect different renditions of the song. I still haven't played even 20% of them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm

Hello again Jan (Fridays are tough: Jason/Bryce/Jan juggling)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Fred!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm
fred:

I've been seeing more crows lately, which is great for me (kinda look like the plague masks). Not enough though on my window, they lost interest since the slide downstairs was removed. Best alarm clock I ever had, sigh
Avatar 3:09pm
Domenic:

This would be Handle. Queen of Sheeba? YES!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm
Jan Turkenburg:

yep!
Avatar 3:12pm
Linda Lee:

we love the corvids around here. brilliant neighbors to have around.
Avatar 3:13pm

had no idea 'comin' home' had that many versions! beautiful! must investigate!
Avatar 3:14pm
spodiodi:

hi Jan! hi everybody
Avatar 3:14pm
Linda Lee:

thinking of the Rolling Stones' "Mona" now too :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Spodiodi!
Avatar 3:14pm
Linda Lee:

spodiodi! hi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
Jan Turkenburg:

In this song Mona turns out to be a cow :-)
Avatar 3:17pm
Linda Lee:

hahaha!! really?
Avatar 3:17pm
spodiodi:

hah. just read this about cow-free ice cream a minute ago: www.sfchronicle.com...
Avatar 3:17pm
Linda Lee:

wonderful.
Avatar 3:18pm
Linda Lee:

i like cow-free ice cream. especially coconut. benefits: no snot!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
fred:

@Linda Lee: Maybe I should set up a crow feeder, with lock and key, so that the flying rats wouldn't get at it. Strictly prohibited in my building though
Avatar 3:18pm
spodiodi:

i'm with you, Linda Lee
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:-) :-)
Avatar 3:20pm
Linda Lee:

that's something i don't get ~ prohibitions against feeding wild birds. as long as there's a place to perch, they're there. why be rude?
Avatar 3:22pm
Linda Lee:

what's the song 'Natuur' saying, Jan? sounds nice in thi big empty room.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm
fred:

I wouldn't call pigeons wild (apart from Clay), and my building is so old they're really tearing the place apart
Avatar 3:24pm
spodiodi:

i'm with you, Fred. and they poop everywhere
Avatar 3:24pm
Linda Lee:

i was thinking more of crows there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm
Jan Turkenburg:

It's a funny song the beautiful things you can find in the forest in this region of the country, describing all kinds of things that are not considered delightfull, like shit flees, fungus, fox with rabies and rabbits with mixomatosis...
Avatar 3:25pm
spodiodi:

and the chicks sound like they were delivered straight from hell (to me).
crows are taking over here. pigeons are scared
Avatar 3:25pm
Linda Lee:

hahah.. got it. :-)
Avatar 3:26pm
spodiodi:

nice, Jan
Avatar 3:26pm
Linda Lee:

@spodiodi ~ so then, a crow feeder would actually discourage the pigeons.
Avatar 3:26pm
Linda Lee:

.. if they couldn't get at it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm
fred:

Yeah, but pigeons are why the restrictions are in place. Because managers are closer to pigeon intelligence than crows'. They relate to their brethen
Avatar 3:27pm
Linda Lee:

haha! sure. :-)
Avatar 3:29pm
Linda Lee:

do your rabbits suffer mixomatosis? our entire rabbit population was just about wiped out here in the catskills, where i live. never saw a rabbit .. till about 5 years ago. then they started appearing all around! now they're everywhere. & apparently very healthy & well.
Avatar 3:30pm
Linda Lee:

that means the red foxes are back big time as wel. they're lovely to see.
Avatar 3:30pm
spodiodi:

i wonder what such a crow feeder might look like, Linda Lee
Avatar 3:31pm
Linda Lee:

something that requires brains to operate?
Avatar 3:32pm
spodiodi:

yeah... i was going to say any closed take-out container might do (i've seen them go to work on one!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm
fred:

@Linda Lee: Recent events cast a doubt about our ability to operate one, let alone build them
Avatar 3:33pm
Linda Lee:

sure! or something that opens with a lever.
Avatar 3:33pm
Linda Lee:

make it a contest for money. we'll do anything for money.
Avatar 3:33pm
spodiodi:

or a bowl of nuts near a stop light
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm
fred:

Crows aren't dumb enough to fight over money
Avatar 3:34pm
spodiodi:

:D
Avatar 3:35pm
Linda Lee:

of course not. they can't use it! :-) i have seen tussles though.
Avatar 3:36pm
Linda Lee:

let's guess. was that a Gainsbourg production?
Avatar 3:39pm
Domenic:

Ring Comp! I love these Easy In Jamaica's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm
fred:

@Linda Lee: Sounds like it
Avatar 3:40pm
Linda Lee:

it did. he made such nice beds for her voice.
Avatar 3:41pm
Linda Lee:

you could have a crow sing over those & sell records.
Avatar 3:44pm
Linda Lee:

hahahah!!! amazing cover, Jan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:-)
Avatar 3:46pm
Linda Lee:

ooh! Ken Boothe!
Avatar 3:46pm
spodiodi:

i spy a pair of crows out my window. i could ask
Avatar 3:47pm
Linda Lee:

they might be a bit busy at the moment to converse ..
like the guy in that last song
Avatar 3:48pm
spodiodi:

i suppose. they appear aloof
Avatar 3:49pm
Linda Lee:

:-)
Avatar 3:57pm
Domenic:

Heard this "Money (Fucking Racoon edit)" before. This is "top 40" at Sheena's!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm
fred:

I saw a doc (I think David W. recommended it) that said crows have a long distance loud language and a quieter one for family
Avatar 3:58pm
Linda Lee:

that makes sense. we do too.
Avatar 3:59pm
Linda Lee:

the fucking raccoon lady. haha.
thanks for a lovely show Jan!
Avatar 3:59pm
spodiodi:

thanks, Jan!
Avatar 4:00pm
Domenic:

mixed 10 day's ago! "My daughter said: This is a whole new level of weird" LOL
