Today has been for the birds! From the bird discussion on Garbage Time to these funny flockers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm
StringOFperils:

True. A day for the birds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm
gloomsday:

been good, a bit crazy train on my end. happy to be able to sit down and relax to neighbors noise for the first time in a long time.
Avatar 7:14pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

I'd be happy giving most days to the birds, I feel like they could probably use them pretty well.
@gloomsday, glad to have you of course! hope the crazy train has a nice dining car at least?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm
StringOFperils:

Nice to get a bit of pseudo-outside time.

Hello Jesse and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm
gloomsday:

@jesse: haha! yeah, i'd say so :) just wishing life would slow down. thought it might in light of recent events, but... nope! ah well.
Avatar 7:19pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

yeah days seem to fly by even when I don't leave the house, I feel like I'm going to have more unfinished projects at the end of this than when I started.
Hello hi ParUbi!

Sounds like Mardi Gras.
Avatar 7:21pm
northguineahills:

Well, I just discovered, the most organized person I knew, has her finances less organized then I. Shouldn't vent, but I'm the least technically organized person I know (minus my record and book collections).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm
gloomsday:

yup, feel you there. i've started so many projects within the last month. but on the plus side, i finished a novel and am nearly done with revisions! so at least i'm making headway on some of the bigger ones.
Avatar 7:22pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

You see Mardi Gras, Gasprilla, and Carnival festivals music, but what was the last time you heard a Shrove Tuesday celebration music celebre?
Avatar 7:24pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

hey northguineahills!
@gloomsday, when you say finished you mean writing not reading? That's amazing, congrats!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm
gloomsday:

@jesse: yeah, writing! thank you :) it's the first one i've actually completed, so i'm pretty stoked. you'll be shocked to hear that a couple of the characters are fond of field recording (both listening to and actually recording, themselves)
Avatar 7:32pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

Whoa, amazing that's wild! :) Does the book have a release date?
Avatar 7:35pm
northguineahills:

hi-fives all-around for gloomsday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
StringOFperils:

Yeah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
gloomsday:

not yet! i'm gonna be sending chapters to literary agents in the next few months with hopes that they'll want to offer representation and then help me snag a traditional publisher, so it could take a while unfortunately! but so much of the actual heavy lifting is done on my end, which feels amazing. no matter what happens with the book, i'm proud of what i have accomplished! (thank you NGH!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

yeah, lemme get in on that high five, too! Excellent news, gloomsday!
Avatar 7:51pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

I guess it's always the case that by the time something is released into the world the artist has long ago moved on to other projects. Nonetheless, it's worth celebrating, congrats!

OK, back. and exhausted. I see that Scion was on Tresor Recs, that explains the Berlin/Detroit sound...
Avatar 9:21pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

Nice! I tried biking around a little today and was exhausted after ten minutes, it's amazing how quickly you lose the ability to move.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22pm
WR:

Hello Jesse and all. Been listening, been cooking (big potato carrot guanabara tomato stew with Indian flavorings) and now as it simmers will read what ya'll been commenting about.
Avatar 9:24pm
Brad O:

Hey Jesse! It's Brad Otwell from Northwest Arkansas. Long time, man! Saw you were on the radio tonight, so I thought I would check it out. Good stuff! Really liked that Scion track you played earlier, near the top of the hour, I think.
Avatar 9:26pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

Hey WR! Glad to accompany the cooking tonight, sounds delicious you're making me hungry!
Avatar 9:26pm
northguineahills:

When the lock-down began, I started at 200m and worked my up (to now 14 km). I used to walk 12km daily in NYC, but rarely walked once I moved to Orlando) (at least in my hood, you aren't perceived as a vagabond if you're walking.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27pm
chresti:

Franco is cooking posole with purple hominy.
Avatar 9:27pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

Hey Brad! Thanks for checking in, glad to hear from you/be ! How's your isolation going?
Avatar 9:27pm
northguineahills:

Looks like WR has the same culinary stylings as myself....
Avatar 9:29pm
northguineahills:

All I have left is a shiton of herbs and spices, and some udon and bok choi. I need my job to start soon, or at least get my stimulus package....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30pm
WR:

Yes, NGH, I saw you recently mention making curry udon or something similar. I enjoy cooking.
Avatar 9:34pm
northguineahills:

@WR: Yes! I can't believe I hadn't thought of it earlier, it's amazing. (I only thought of it b/c of the ingredients in front of me).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm
WR:

LOL. The stew main motivation was that when I made my first grocery run with the store stock wiped out one of the few "fresh" vegetables available was potatoes. I bought a lot and turns out they weren't so fresh so need to cook them all soon. And yes, using up the variety of spices I've had a long time.
Avatar 9:36pm
northguineahills:

I excel at Mexican and East Asian cuisines, consider myself decent at Caribbean, West African, Indian, and That. and even do Polish and Irish on occasion. (and do fusions of all of the above).
Avatar 9:37pm
northguineahills:

That=Thai

Wish I could get ingredients to learn to do Burmese (probably one of my favorite cuisines).
Avatar 9:38pm
Brad O:

Isolation is better with the music. Thanks!
Avatar 9:38pm
northguineahills:

I made sweet potato/ potato huitlacoche soup last week, which eventually i reduced and made the soup in the a salsa for homemade nachos!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45pm
WR:

NGH, great range of cooking. I dabble a bit in different cuisines but not near that range.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47pm
Franco Twinkie:

Break time! Posole is on simmer, and the masa for toriillas is resting. If I had a beer I would crack it.
Avatar 9:49pm
northguineahills:

ack, I have $10 to my name, and beer to be gained, and 72 mins to leave before I am shamed!
Avatar 9:49pm
northguineahills:

I saw I-F around 2004, great show....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm
WR:

Jesse, for my archive listening (missed first hour) your comment summary of sound collage was for the Mitchell Keaney journal?
Avatar 9:52pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

Hey Franco! sounds delicious!
@WR that was for the Ben Link Collins Elsewhere piece, starting about 5 min into the show
Avatar 9:52pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

@NGH, legendary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm
Franco Twinkie:

NGH, Are you someplace where you need to spent that tenner (excluding the store),and if so, why?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm
WR:

Franco, similar here. Rationing the beers so drinking large glass of water now and my one beer for tonight when the stew is ready.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54pm
Franco Twinkie:

WR, There is no beer shortage here, but I only crave beer if it's warm outside, and today was the first warm day in awhile.
Avatar 9:57pm
northguineahills:

@franco: There's a convenience store five blocks away. And I'm still a little bit steamed from my wife not having the the 2018 IRS return which we did jointly so she could get her 10-year visa. I need to pay my car insurance w/in the next week, and I need said car for my job. So, beer is where I'm going (I rarely drink liquour).
Avatar 9:58pm
northguineahills:

(scheisse, she lurks here sometimes, this will be fun).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm
WR:

My beer rationing is part economic but mostly looking to halt and possibly reverse my expanding waistline.
Avatar 9:59pm
northguineahills:

arigato, Jesse!

@WR: My 12-14km walks per day have made me rather trim....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm
