Martinibomb:

Off-topic question but I'm curious what taxes are like outside of the USA? It's a big pain unless I pay a service to do it. Is it a huge confusing mess for Uk/NL peoples?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I dread it each year and mine is relatively simple these days...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

In the U|K it's taken out at source by the Government - so your monthly/weekly pay packet has deductions for tax and national insurance. Unless you work freelance, in which case you have to fill in an annual tax return.
Avatar 1:23pm
Mr Fab:

hey all, Ready to make some $$ for our loyal Dutch buddy Jan? Come on folks, he gives you 3-three-THREE big shows every week. Help a brutha out!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Mr, Fab!
  1:27pm
Martinibomb:

@GG it sounds simpler in the UK. I've been working on mine for 3 weeks. Getting kinda tired/frustrated with em Hah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Pledge now minimum $20 and recieve Neil Young and Bluenote Cafe - Bluenote Cafe - OR - Acid Eater - Virulent Fuzz Punk A.C.I.D. - CD
Avatar 1:28pm
Mr Fab:

More fun livin n America: The Fabs have to soak our weary bodies in a spa or sumthin after standing in line for over an hour to vote yesterday. Can't complain too much tho: some waited hours, even til midnight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@MB - all my freelance friends have nervous breakdowns at this time every year. I feel your pain!
Avatar 1:28pm
Mr Fab:

that Acid Eaters album looks spectacular, gotta get me one.
Avatar 1:31pm
Mr Fab:

the other premium now available is Neil Young's "Bluenote Cafe" a 2-disk live album. Neil is a god to me. And live, the man's a monster. (So...a god monster?)
Avatar 1:34pm
worldsworstrecords:

Neil Young is Chutulu? (or however you spell it!)
Avatar 1:34pm
Mr Fab:

oh man, it ends with a 19-minute version of "Tonight's the Night"
Avatar 1:37pm
worldsworstrecords:

This isn't still Supersister, is it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, we can make "the likely archive listener" happy with a Premium CD with Covers from Peppermill City!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
joe:

@worldsworstrecords please don't surprised when I release my Neil Young by way of Danzig tribute album and call it Neil Young is Cthulhu
Avatar 1:38pm
worldsworstrecords:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm

Type O Negative does a pretty doomy gloomy cover of Cinnammon Girl
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm
joe:

Oh yeah 'ello folks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Joe!
  1:42pm
Martinibomb:

@GG yeh I'm a freelancer ;-/ I have to pay quarterly taxes - estimate what I'll make before I make it and pay tax on it.... like a god damn fortune teller
Avatar 1:42pm
Mr Fab:

Hi Darryl! How much money does WFMU pay you to host programs?
Or you Jan, or Georgy, or Martinibomb?
I'll tell you how much I'm paid to work here: NUTHIN. Nada. Zero. Zip. Actually, it COSTS me, with all the records/CDs/downloads I purchase. So if you can throw a few bucks our way folks, we'd love you long times.
Avatar 1:43pm

  Swag For Life Member 1:49pm

Hi DJGG and everyone.
Avatar 1:49pm
Mr Fab:

Remember, Jan's special Premium of Dutch covers of popular hits is ALWAYS available. But the weirdo anti-hippie folk collection "Freedom is a Hammer, The Acid Eaters garage punks, and the live Neil Young are ONLY available during this hour.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Tim!
Avatar 1:51pm
Mr Fab:

the "Freedom is a Hammer" comp reminds me of The Goldwaters album from around the same time, "Folk Songs To Bug The Liberals." Maybe for a Vol 2?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Wow - over the course of a week we've had Les Goths from me, Les Punkrockers from Greg, and now Les Baroques from Jan. I see a pattern ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm
joe:

Les is more?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:-)
Avatar 1:53pm

How about Les McQueen and Creme Brulee?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm
