For some reason though, they edit out the part when Linus and Violet are talking in the candy store about what to get their teacher, which makes one of the later scenes not make sense. Must be for timing reasons.
Avatar 🥁 3:33pm
Erica:

teachers I mean.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
Funky16Corners:

Yeah, more commercials now that there were 30-40 years ago. It's a shame they edit like that
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:36pm
Brian in UK:

Larry, excuse my ignorance but what is the difference twixt Tamla and Gordy.
Avatar 🥁 3:36pm
Erica:

Thankfully that edited scene can be watched on YouTube.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:37pm

@Brian - Can you imagine where he would have gone had he lived?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:19pm
Jeff Ash:

Sad but true: Our house in Madison, Wisconsin, was a mile north of where Otis Redding's plane crashed into Lake Monona in December 1967. We moved there 20 years later.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:19pm
Funky16Corners:

Isn't there a memorial by the lake?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:22pm
Jeff Ash:

Yes, in downtown Madison. I often thought about Otis and the crash while running along the lake.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:24pm
Funky16Corners:

I can imagine. There was a piece of the plane at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Both touching and macabre.

(I also recall a great version by Taj Mahal).
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:41pm

This is William Bell's song, but I think Otis Clay does the definitive version.

Okay here is the deal Doc - Where I got todays sammich is this place called The Hat, which at one time used Cooks as a supplier, which was top shelf. It's been awhile since I've had one, and frankly I was underwhelmed. Too salty, and boiled not steamed. Not as good as I remember.
