Kind of like taking your parents record collection and getting drunk in a Radio Shack. Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Garage Punk, Regular Punk and Old-Fashioned Weirdos. Hopefully you have the patience for this fast-paced sonic impatience. Not recommended for the fan of 4 minute songs.

That Sam Cooke Live at Harlem Square 1963 is my FAVORITE LIVE RECORD OF ALL TIME!! So good. Check it out. I believe it wasn't released until mid-80's by RCA?

Hey hey ! Been rockin to this fine upstanding show all morning. yeah, that Sam Cooke was nuts. Must check out. (Actually, Otis Redding live at Monterey might be my fave live recording.) (Of course, James Brown at the Apollo aint too shabby either)

HEY FAB!!
Woah, I'll have to check out that Live Big O record..
Avatar 2:24pm
Mr Fab:

Actually, I only had it on video. Dont' know if it had a proper release. it's only like 5 or 6 songs cuz the Jefferson Airplane ran overtime. But it. Is. PERFECT.

Neat!

That's funny, Otis was playing a Jean-Jacques Perrey track on his show yesterday, too--must be a Sheena thing.
Avatar 2:32pm
Mr Fab:

I met Jean-Jacques Perrey once. He autographed a CD for me. Otis Fodder was the DJ for his tour at the time, Mark. (Spacebrother Greg was at that show, too)

Haha!! MUST BE!

That Otis performance was originally released in the 70s with him on one side and Jimi on the other. About 20 years ago they put out a boxed set with a lot of Monterey performances, including Otis's whole set, which, as Mr. Fab said, was only 5 songs long, but it is indeed perfect.
Avatar 2:39pm
Mr Fab:

Ah yes, Jimi’s Monterey set was a fiery one indeed. Literally.

Hola ARB! I know that Bad Man song as “Bad Girl” by the Detroit Cobras. Was that the original?

OBLIVIANS did "Bad Man" first..

ooooh, this song is on my wantlist!

I've wondered for years why Devo didn't mine the wealth of riches from the "hardcore" years when they started running dry on material in the '80s.
