  3:31pm Al on Long Island:

"Giant on the Beach" could be named after a line in the animated feature "Gulliver's Travels" from 1939.
  3:45pm CC:

Avatar 4:09pm Sid:

Big 12'' records were soon to follow. More time to boogie.
  4:11pm Al on Long Island:

There was actually a format war. Columbia developed the LP and RCA developed the 45. Both came to market after WWII. Eventually and thankfully, there was a truce.
  4:12pm CC:

That song made me think of Wet Willie...........Dixon!!!...hehehe
Avatar 4:18pm Sid:

That's right - 7" and 12" co-existed peacefully for 40+ years. Someone on the Michael Shelley chat yesterday was saying that 78s were pressed for jukeboxes through the 80s-90s, but I haven't been able to confirm that anywhere. 78s were only mono and were pressed through the 50s.
Avatar 4:18pm Sid:

Commercial 78s, that is.
  4:22pm CC:

Profound lyrics indeed!!!
  4:34pm CC:

I always thought they should have done a Isis part 2 by Bob Dylan???
  4:50pm CC:

I never Googled whether Donald Trump likes Jelly Belly beans or not???
