Hi ParUbi (and anyone sauntering slowly in). Hope your Sunday is a relaxing one.

frend-lee per-sway-shun! (as I drive spell-check crazy) Hi Otis, ParUbi, and all the ships at sea.
Avatar 2:04pm
Otis Fodder:

Relaxing music to steer your vessal well Monsieur Fab. Unless of course your next stop is Purgatory as the music seems to suggest.
Avatar 2:09pm
Mr Fab:

Sounds quite heavenly to me. But of course my idea of 'heaven' is perhaps not everyone's.

Mr Fab:

It's Jan the Man! We're here diggin' the sweet sound of primitive electronics. Was the future wonderful?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I'd rather have the future from the past than the future from the present.
Avatar 2:28pm
Otis Fodder:

Hi Jan!
Avatar 2:38pm
Mr Fab:

i remember Basic Hip. He rotated albums every week. if you missed it, it was gone. 'twas back in the days before free file sharing sites, so you had to pay to host mp3s yourself, which could get expensive. So much great stuff i discovered on Basic Hip.
Avatar 2:38pm
Otis Fodder:

Me too, basic hip was fantastic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm
ParUbi:

Today's term that I keep forgetting: "free improvisation"-- looked it up 4 times today. Writing it down to remember it.
Avatar 2:42pm
Mr Fab:

Someone stop that girl on the cover of "Mallet Mischief" from hanging herself! She has so much to live for!
Avatar 2:44pm
Pussywillows_Cat-tails:

Loved that Mel Henke tune!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Isn't www.kiddierecords.com from Basic Hip as well?
Avatar 2:46pm
Mr Fab:

Yes, I believe so, Jan.

That whole Mel Henke album is nuts. The CD reissue had a slew of great bonus tracks, as well.
Avatar 2:47pm
Otis Fodder:

It is, yes!
Avatar 2:53pm
Mr Fab:

Ah ha, "Exotic Adventure" was, in fact, one of the bonus tracks.
Avatar 2:54pm
Otis Fodder:

It was, one of the best couple of tracks off the Adventures album, which is good, but way outta the same ring as Dolce Henke!
Avatar 2:54pm
Pussywillows_Cat-tails:

I will go down a Henke hole later after the show.
Avatar 2:55pm
Mr Fab:

Hmm, pretty sure we just heard a version of the "I'm in love with a girl named Maria" song, not "Goldfinger." Not trying to tell you how to do your job!
Avatar 3:01pm
Mr Fab:

ha ha, i was just gonna say: sounds like a job for The Bran Flakes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm
fred:

Shatner gets way more airplay than Nimoy here though, for some reason
Also, hello
Avatar 3:15pm
Otis Fodder:

Hi Fred and PCT!
Avatar 3:16pm
Mr Fab:

Hey fred, well, Spacebrother Greg left my garage sale couple weeks ago with two Nimoy albums. So he might play them on his show here "Stop Hitting Yourself." Less talk, more Spock! (and I think I have come up with yet another motto for this channel)
Avatar 3:16pm
Pussywillows_Cat-tails:

In Canada Shatner is a god. We even put him on a postage stamp.
Avatar 3:17pm
Otis Fodder:

Pulling out Nimoy's Maiden Wine, that he wrote. From his wonderful 4th album. Nimoy is Neat!
Avatar 3:27pm
Mr Fab:

he just pronounced his name "Marty Page." So there ya go.
Avatar 3:27pm
Otis Fodder:

Ha, I just caught that too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm

I am all for tooling the ratio towards Nimoy. I just recently found a copy of his The Way I Feel.

  4:43pm
linda lee:

I hear lots of great show names in library music titles.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm
Stanley:

@fred: I sometimes come accross an Islay that isn't peated but because it seems like the malt cannot escape the smoke, it invariably has a feint peat smoke flavour to it.
Needless to say it's always amazing.
Avatar 4:48pm

I agree. BBQ is good food!
