The first time I played a song in front of others was during my sophomore year of high school in a German class talent show. I sang this song with a shitty ukulele. It was a fairly awkward stage of my life and I was really nervous going into it. To my surprise everyone seemed to like it and I left feeling I had done the song justice. From then on I've been much more comfortable playing for others, even though it's rare for me to do so.

often thought to myself “i hope bob dylan is doing ok out there”. usually while listening to Travelling Wilburis late at night with a beer on the back porch. i never met him but i loved him like a brother. his songs always had the words for the little moments and pervasive feelings we all experience but don’t know how to describe; he was like the soundtrack to my clinical depression but also my hope for things to get better. i was going to go to one of his shows for my birthday, and was excited to crash-deal with my own social anxiety by trying to talk with him. that’ll never happen, and i’ll never hear another new song of his, and instead of wondering if bob dylan is ok, i will only hope he’s with his mom in heaven.

In the spring of 1987 I danced with the love of my life to "Visions of Johanna", just the two of us in front of a gym full of high school classmates. I didn't realize until I stumbled upon this work of art, that moment lost in time would flood back and fill me with joy and then the bittersweet realization that life doesn't work out the way we hope. I have an instant connection to Dave via this poetry and my singular experience 32 years ago and I'm sure many others feel a similar connection. I have binged this song for 2 days now. I expect it to be in my life until I too expire. I am just now discovering the Traveling Wilburys and his poetry. i'm selfishly thrilled to get to experience it all while simultaneously devastated by his death. There are lights that shine like the sun, and this man was one of those 1 in a billion. I'm sorry to all that loved him, but let's all take solace in what he left us and the end of his pain.

Ive never heard of Bob Dylan until a few weeks ago. This song you just played speaks to me on a very personal level. I heard that he died but didn't know the cause and today after listening to the whole album I said to myself "..fuck this guy probably killed himself" and he did NOT fortunately. I got really emotional after finding out even though I never do that for strangers, hell even some family members. The whole album is so personal. I typed out a whole rant on what I think is wrong with the world but none of that is relevant and nobody would actually give a shit anyway.
