The sound of sanity after days of Disney music non-stop!
Avatar 9:34pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

hahaha! i'm glad i guess that this sounds sane!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm
Franco Twinkie:

Disney music sound great compared to listening to my mother obsess about paper towels.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36pm
doctorjazz:

Hahaha! Does she's go for Bounty?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40pm
Franco Twinkie:

Brand is a non-issue. She is unwilling or unable to open the pantry and look inside...Unless she is looking for cookies.
Avatar 9:41pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

that just sounds reasonable to me.

They get older, some get difficult (mine was impossible when she was really old). Hoping I don't torture my kids in a similar way...

We just saw a movie in which the song "You'll Never Know" figures. I was telling my wife how, in Boston in the 70s I watched a wino sing that song on the Green line for a good twenty minutes. I expect you to be that kind of transit bum, Kurt.

I checked Burt's auto-biography out of the library. Amusing at first, but after a awhile it was like drinking a gigantic budget cola.

Dave Sewelson and Music For a Free World will be filling in tomorrow night for Kurt filling in for Jesse!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm

I am nervous about filing Kurt's headphones..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm
Doug Schulkind:

Prolific NYC drummer Dee Pop (Black Car Nation, Bush Tetras, Floor Kiss, Freedomland, Immaculate Hearts, The Gun Club, etc.) will be Dave's special surprised guest!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm

let's have a look at those ears
Avatar 10:13pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

parq, will do.
hi coel, webham, doug'n'dave!
dave, they're jesse's headphones, i just live in them.
franco, that's a great comparison!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm

In reality, my future elderly self will probably move in with my son in sf and spend my days outside shaking my fist at the google bus
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
Webhamster Henry:

Dave's show is a beacon of Jazz generosity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm
coelacanth∅:

hmm, "future elderly self". never even considered that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm

So, ...Free World Will be on tomorrow at noon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm
doctorjazz:

...at 7pm?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm
Doug Schulkind:

@doctorjazz
No, on at 7pm. Free World is on for Kurt, who has been on for Jesse Kaminsky.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm
Parq:

My future elderly self is becoming my present elderly self with alarming rapidity. Apparently, my future elderly self is fat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm
Franco Twinkie:

What Chresti isn't considering, after she abandons me in a puddle of my own piss, is by that time the Google Bus will most likely be a Blade Runner type craft that will incinerate anyone who dares make a defiant gesture at its magnificence.
Avatar 10:24pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

the google bus will have a robot fist to shake at itself, thus putting people like you out of work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm
doctorjazz:

Got it (usually listen to Kurt Tuesday nights...guess the memory is going, and starting to notice a bit of drool...).
  10:26pm
Dean:

So the Google Bus will take Google employees from their homes to a Google office or campus, because even by then Google will not have figured out to operate web- and cloud-based services remotely? That sounds about right.
Avatar 10:26pm
northguineahills:

ah man, I lost my hors d'oeuvres ….
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm
Dave Sewelson:

the google bus will be driverless with robot passengers recharging themselves riding to work
  10:29pm
Dean:

Google will need robot customers, too, then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31pm
doctorjazz:

Google employees can work from home on many teams already, (my daughter's boyfriend did an internship there this summer). Thing is, with all the food, snacks, entertainment rooms available, bring your dog to work, and other perks, they'd be nuts not to come in!
Avatar 10:31pm
northguineahills:

I just got attacked by one of those crappy 'malware' sites, and it had a high pitch sinal tone. I didn't even notice as I thought it was part of the music....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32pm
Franco Twinkie:

The robots have already planted themselves in SF and are dismantling the city as we speak.
Avatar 10:33pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

ngh, we're here to serve!

I am a part time human being
Avatar 10:40pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

more human beings should do full-time what you get done in half the time, dave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm
Dave Sewelson:

I know you get time and a half to do these shows, Kurt...
Avatar 10:44pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

yeah, but i live in a slower time zone and the exchange rates'll kill ya.
  10:47pm
Dean:

I'm actually kind of amazed that otherwise sensible people fall for the baloney dished out by Silicon Valley capital. Google is a prime (heh, pun) example, as are AI, robotics, and so forth. I guess a large portion of the educated public really wants or needs to believe the gospel according to corny science fiction.
Avatar 10:49pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

oh, hi dean!
(i think i forgot to say hi, dean)
  10:50pm
Dean:

Well, that just proves my point. The robot that responds to listener comments on the board can't even recognize a new contribution!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
Franco Twinkie:

Well here it is! Just like they said: A gleaming surface on a pile of rotting worms.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm
coelacanth∅:

you know, i think worms get a bad rap.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm
Franco Twinkie:

I know, Coel. I'm not very worm positive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm
chresti:

Google has a pasture on the google campus for future elderly google humans
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm
coelacanth∅:

well, eventually worms will be replaced by robot worms and i wont rally for them any more.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm
coelacanth∅:

so you're saying they'll send the old googly-eyed folks to the corn field?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm
chresti:

haha worm robots
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm
Dave Sewelson:

I must to go now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm
coelacanth∅:

g'night Free Dave
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm
Franco Twinkie:

You guys are probably to young to remember, but in Donald duck comic books there was a side feature called Gyro Gearloose. It always had malevolent little robots creating havoc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm
coelacanth∅:

wow i'd like to see those comic books
(and, i may be too young - but i never read comic books anyway)
Avatar 11:08pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

oh that sounds great, never knew it!

g'night dave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm
Webhamster Henry:

The code song: a love song of the Signal Corps! Gyro Gearloose was an inventing goose!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15pm
Franco Twinkie:

I got in serious trouble for showing my sister a Gyro Gearloose story right after she had her appendix out. She laughed so hard her stitches started bleeding.
Avatar 11:17pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

hahahahahaha (cries)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm
coelacanth∅:

yikes!
so, it was so funny she was almost *not* in stitches?
Avatar 11:21pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

youch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm
Franco Twinkie:

We were in back seat our '56 Chevy Belair bringing her home from the hospital when this happened.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28pm
coelacanth∅:

well we know it was your doing then, if she was in the cloudlike comfort of the '56 bel air.
Avatar 11:29pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm
Franco Twinkie:

It was specifically a story that had the tiny robot(s) in a junk pile in the back yard of Gyros house.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm
coelacanth∅:

that sounds like nightmare material to me
Avatar 11:39pm
northguineahills:

Thanks, Kurt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40pm
coelacanth∅:

and speaking of nightmares... i'm going to be over there >, in bed, listening but maybe drifting off.
so i'll thank you now,Kurt.
Thank you Kurt.
good night all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm
chresti:

Signing off, great time, Kurt and co, goodnight! See you around..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43pm
doctorjazz:

My parents drove a 56 Bel Air as well, remember it.
I guess she gave meaning to the phrase, laughed so hard I busted a gut.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm
Franco Twinkie:

looks like things are closing down. I too shall vector to a surface where I can recline...After Lightnin' that is!
  11:47pm
Dean:

Closing down?! I'm just about to serve pork chops with caper sauce, spinach, and mashed potatoes loaded with butter!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm
Franco Twinkie:

Okay, one more! The night my sister came down with appendicitis, my fatner came home with our new used car - the Bel Air. My mom made pork chops for dinner that night and my sister threw up on the living room couch. And then it all went nuts!
