I went to the Mdou Moctar concert in Brooklyn last night
Car broke down as I got off the exit
Drove 3 blocks past the show to pull over safely
Faintly heard the music in the background
That concert cost me 350.00 in repairs and tow
Totally my own fault
Never saw the concert
Totally bummed out.
  1:08am
ignatatus666:

Oh
Great playlist
Thank you

JH, Def. schedule worthy. Trying things out is always good but you already knew that! And just for the record, you're insane. 1500 new tracks? Did I hear that right?

ignatatus666 that blows. Sorry, man.
Avatar 1:12am
Jherweg:

Yeah I downloaded music for like ten hours straight the last couple days , I’m like a digital music rain man... that Moctar show was incredible ... I was blown away .. sorry about your troubles..
  1:12am
ignatatus666:

What really blows is most likely Mdou Moctar is about to become super popular and seeing him at small venues is about to end.
  1:23am
rw:

ignatatus666, you might have some time. Just catch the next one. I never saw X in LA back when they were playing clubs. When we would look up shows to go to on the weekend, I kept saying, "Yeah, I'd see X, but not at that venue. Maybe when they play someplace smaller." Of course they kept playing bigger and bigger places. It wasn't until I was in college that I finally saw them in an old opera house in Kansas City! I think it must have been 1984. Billy Zoom had returned. It was a pretty great show. I just thought it was funny it took moving to KS to finally see X.

rw, the two bands that I saw more than ever (in the early 80s, as a teenager) were Dead Kennedys and X. So so good.

Scraps, Sounds like a great teenage experience! My sister and brother-in-law just saw X at the Orange County Fair! Maybe not such a great experience. I'm not sure who I saw most as a kid. I had a couple friends in a band called Middle Class. They were pretty involved with the scene and always played cool places often with other good bands. I probably saw them most and often if not always on the guest list!

I once asked my mum (70's) what you euphoria was. She said it was something bad. I found that to be wrong, never really trusted her after that.

There’s two Xs, even; the Los Angeles punk band, and an Australian band, also punk, and also formed in 1977.

Avatar 2:17am

The Los Angeles X was fairly famous, breaking out of punk to have their second album declared by Rolling Stone the best album of 1978, and getting on MTV for two or three videos. The male-and-female vocals were awesome.
Avatar 2:21am
VincentNifigance:

Hey Jon, nice to see you.
Avatar 2:22am

The Australian X were more like a generic punk band, to me. On the other hand, some people think they were underrated and pretty great. I haven’t heard them for ages, though I have at least one of theirs.... hm, I should listen to them again
  2:23am
rw:

ignatatus666 you're 66 yrs old or you were born in '66? If you were born in '66 you would probably know some songs. If you're 66 yrs old you still would probably know some songs!

Jeez, when I said 1978, I meant 1981
  2:27am

Scraps, that's my memory of Aussie X. If we both have the same (non)memory I'm guessing we're right about them. Let me know if you have any changes of heart after another listen!

Taking acid is like taking your brain apart and looking at it in exploded view, yes? Pistons, crankshafts, valves, gaskets.. I've heard it's good for PTSD (like MDMA)
