Is this from the double live LP - bought it when it came out and bummed I lost it somewhere along the way -
  3:09pm
John from Florham park:

Hello fellow spun age blaster fans
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm
TomDash:

ahhh, it is NOT from that dbl live LP...lovely regardless! Here for the trip...
  3:10pm
Rich in Washington:

I still have Double Live on cassette! I can't seem to part with it since I bought it at a Buttholes show.

More yes!

I've still got a cassette of it too.

Great day to have blown down in my car on lunch break.

Rich - I'm pretty sure I bought my vinyl copy of double live at one of their shows too. But could be mistaken. And this is lovely...

Rich in Washington:

I used to have that Nothing Butt comp, but I think I stupidly sold or traded it off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm
ultradamno:

Up there with Sonic Youth and DOA for non-local bands I saw the most times. It was the eighties, everybody was crazy for Buttholes.
Avatar 3:14pm
Chris from DC:

I wish I could go back and see the Surfers in their prime. Never got the chance.

Does one say "thanks much" for that double dose? Real Miss Manners situation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm
TomDash:

wait, you're getting Sabbath for a live set on your show??? DAMN!
Avatar 3:18pm
Creamo Coyl:

I only fuck with the greats. Ozzie owes me one. Long story. Involves prison, a suitcase full of what I can't say, and also the Alamo (which doesn't have a basement).
  3:19pm
Rich in Washington:

was fortunate to have seen them a few times in the mid 80s. An utterly life-changing experience. Saw them a few times in the 90s and they seemed strangely lacking in vitality by comparison. Say no to just saying no(?).

1st album recorded for nothin' in no time @ all.. .How I loves EarlySabbaths...

Rich in Washington:

Sabbath after Butthole Surfers seems strangely appropriate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm
TomDash:

Yeah Butthole Surfers in the 80s achieved cult status for sure. Some of the more far out and intense shows I've ever seen. Never saw them in the 90s, but would have liked to see their reunion tour with original members (did that hit the States? or just Europe?)

Note Smithereens song by same title. Influences made not always obvious!...

FIrst saw the Buttholes at the Cat Club in Manhattan in 85. Saw them dozens of times since all the way up through the last tour and then the last show at the Growler’s in Long Beach almost two years ago now.Def my second favorite band. Those live tracks came on just as I was getting in the shower for some prostate massage / healing. True story? TMI? Fuck it ... it’s the surfers. Cheers. :)

Afternoon! I just realized ROIR must stand for Rock in Opposition Records but then realized if that were the case it would be RIOR instead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm

It's funny that they were Reach Out International Records when they were only selling cassettes. I used to get their catalogs in the 80s and drool over the cool.

Mostly checking in to say hello and that I haven't had any actual realizations.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm

@sphere - I remember buying that MC5 ROIR cassette in Rough Trade in west London eons ago. I was so excited I could hardly speak. That 'noise' version of 'Looking at You' is still a highlight of rock music.
