Hi, Alessandro!

One of the tapes is a C90 -- the other is a C60 ... but with yakking, plus in-theme and out-theme, I still don't have time for another tape.

I seriously doubt anyone could recognize today's mystery LP-under-the-cassettes, given how little is showing, but ... anyone want to guess? (By the way, I may have used this cover before.)

Ahoy, Yvang, Sem, & Cmurtha!!

My knowledge of the geography of Canada is pretty vague: does the term "southern Ontario" include Toronto?

@ Sem: That cassette carousel is quite the thing!

HI. I love this bandname, "Pigs of Oblivion"
Avatar 12:42pm
Tony Coulter:

Think I may play that Whaleburgers cut again next week. As I mentioned last week, I've decided to start playing a few select cuts from each Tape Hiss on my freeform shows -- just so the cream of the crop (to my ears, anyway) doesn't go unarchived.
Avatar 12:44pm
Tony Coulter:

Hi, Marie! "Pigs of Oblivion" -- maybe unavoidably -- makes me think of Pink Floyd ... that floating pig and all.

Hello forks
Avatar 12:45pm
Tony Coulter:

Hiya, Chresti! You seem to be on the move....
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:45pm
Yvang:

I guess this is some extra work for a DJ to have to rewind the tape exactly at the beginning of the chosen track...
  12:46pm
Marie:

Yeah, I could see that. Kind of, tragically, makes me think of all the poor pigs killed to become pork. Call me Debbie Downer....
Avatar 12:48pm
Tony Coulter:

@ Yvang: Yeah, cueing up tapes on the fly is a pain. To be honest, that's why I came up with the idea for these Tape Hiss shows. I figured most of my tapes would never get played otherwise.

Tony Coulter:

@ Marie: As a vegan, I definitely feel what you're saying, sadly....

S.P.L.A.T. is a funny way to spell ASMR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm

Khlam was a Russian group that Ken liked to play a lot - hasn't recently though.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:33pm

Khlam was this band that you could only ear during Ken's show
Avatar 1:33pm
Tony Coulter:

Aha -- I see. These guys, I guess: www.discogs.com...
Avatar 1:38pm
Tony Coulter:

Talking of ASMR, ewe tube keeps recommending that I watch a series of ASMR videos of a rabbit eating. The only one I did watch involved the rabbit eating strawberries -- the juice dripping all around his mouth looked like blood. Was anything but relaxing.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm

the most bizarre ASMRish video I've ever seen is this gentleman whose YouTube video is all about gathering hornet nests and harvesting all the pupae to feed to his chickens. He sits there and meticulously pulls every hornet pupae out of the nest individually with a small pair of tweezers, quietly commenting - ala Bob Ross - the whole time.

Doug Schulkind:

Bobbing for lobsters. I was told to never ever name your lobsters.

That’s really interesting challenge re: keep changing name but stay recognizable. I wanna hear other tracks of theirs under different names to see how they do that.

Yes! This french singer was a huge star in France between the fifties and the eighties.

Hey, Fred!

'Twas a different P.P.

@Fred: If t's the same he has a very intersting noise/field recording side project
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm

@Yvang: I don't believe it's the same guy, but that would be awesome. Too good to be true
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:17pm
Yvang:

This would be his own "Metal Machine Music"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm
fred:

Boringly, it's probably someone being ironic taking up that name. If that was the guy's real name and he decided to keep it for his music, that would be slightly more interesting
Avatar 2:20pm
Tony Coulter:

I'd bet it is his real name. He has a bunch of tapes under that name, none of which seem to truck in irony.
