I don't mind hearing a more popular song on this station that you'd likely hear on Q104 or on CBS-FM because here, Id hear it once in like forever, on those stations once a day. So for me, it feels better in the middle of a free form format as opposed to a heavily scripted playlist format.

Nice surprise fill in! Draining my phone to listen for a bit while riding the silver snail to work. The genius of WFMU is that there are no playlists and "stress tracks" determined by the "sponsors." The DJs are free to throw their favorite rock/pop and such in a blender and just re-visit and and re-contextualize based on just what they like...
