in math, irrational numbers are treated with utmost respect

@herb one of the treats for me of visiting FMU is hearing DJs curse

I'm thinking that traditional shaming is the only way. A long time Truther I knew recently recanted after years of being shunned.

I'm an oblate-spheroid-er.

Joe mcgasko has been mentioned 4,5x - is he paying you, mark?

The Earth looks like comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 5/20/19 6:58pm Rich in Washington:

people aren't really shunned or shamed anymore. It seems like the more loathsome the belief, there's a community out there to be found on the web.

@ βrian I'm more of a hyperbolic geometry-er. Triangles have less than 180 degrees!
Avatar Mon. 5/20/19 6:59pm ultradamno:

But why is a stationary diorama easier to believe than a moving sphere?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 5/20/19 7:00pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Ultima Thule is kind of flat.
Avatar Mon. 5/20/19 7:00pm ultradamno:

@Rich Because it's defiant. You can't shame that.

People unite over being shunned - like InCel & all of them...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 5/20/19 7:00pm melinda:

People shame because it is more satisfying, not because it is necessarily more effective. If you want people to return to your point of view it makes sense to leave the door open rather than closed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 5/20/19 7:01pm melinda:

@Rabbit exactly

...or FMUvians...

It's gratifying, tho', that the 'Left' is finally getting - maybe - that's it's not about 'logic'...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 5/20/19 7:02pm Webhamster Henry:

People need to be led through their own prejudices. That's hard to do.
Avatar Mon. 5/20/19 7:03pm βrian:

@melinda: Smells like compassion. I'm with you on that.
Avatar Mon. 5/20/19 7:04pm βrian:

Wait: is there such a thing as Tough Compassion ....?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 5/20/19 7:07pm Mark Hurst:
