On recordings of Eastern European origin, I always gravitate to the songs with Taksim in the name. Taksim basically indicates an improvisatory jam.

Matt begged off Ichiban and joined the Drummer Stream. There may have been a brief period of overlap.

After Hurricane Sandy, the Ichiban stream remained knocked off the air for a spell and the Drummer Stream become home to some of their shows.

Matt Fiveash started on Ichiban. Also Larry Grogan and Testify! got an early start with Ichiban, but soon switched over. Ichiban's programming purview is somewhat narrower and occasionally shows don't quite work over there. Me on the other hand, I am wider open to different sounds and approaches.

late 2012, hurricane sandy, i was probably barely dipping my toes in the drummer stream. i only started (only because of a broken fm antenna) using the internet for wfmu in 2011.
