ultradamno:

Wasn't Labradford named after a basketball player? Maybe a s/t album would be a concept album about him...

Anyway, blast, blast on...
Avatar 3:33pm
Chris from DC:

Yeah, wasn't it Labradford Smith, played for the Bullets?
Avatar 3:35pm
Creamo Coyl:

Huh not sure I knew that.

Well, they're no Mookie Blaylock.

Was Couch Quintron's pre Quintron band?
Avatar 4:13pm
Creamo Coyl:

No it was Velocity Hopkins from Bulb Recs and Marlon Magas later in Lake of Dracula etc. Quintron might've played on a track or two and Bulb released his early stuff.
Avatar 4:14pm
Creamo Coyl:

Funny to think that Andrew WK came from that scene as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm

That's right. Thanks for the clarification, Creamo. Details get foggy as time goes by.

Speaking of noiserock I just read where Mike Vest is concerned recent controversies will damage the reputations of people who have passed through Skullflower. I know I hate to think playing with Bower will longer be the career bump it once was thequietus.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm
tim from champaign:

That's pretty crazy about Matthew Bower. I wasn't aware.
  4:57pm
David in London:

Being condemnatory ain't my business, but I must confess I'm rather baffled that anyone is surprised that all these blood and soil folk and noise outfits who've played with fascist imagery for thirty years turn out to be alt right fellow travellers.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm
tim from champaign:

@David in London - I totally agree. I really had know idea about Skullflower/Bower because I've only had a few records over the years but I steer clear of any band that veers into that territory for the exact reasons you aptly described.

Not too long ago I ran into a guy online that still didn't believe Boyd Rice is and basically called Lisa Carver a liar. I mean if the man tells you what he is and shows you his collection of sambo tchotchkes (there's video out there), believe him.
Avatar 5:17pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Rawk & Racism. Shouldn't Robert Johnson get to trade souls w/ such a person & get a pass??...
  5:26pm
David in London:

Ultradamno. Yeah, Boyd Rice is the Gloria in Excelsis Deo example. Great use of 'tchotchkes' by the way. Reminds me of my dad's old Yiddishisms.

Loving the tunes. All the way from 31st street NYC via Gloucester UK. Rock on!
Avatar 9:17pm

Hey George, I could really break down yr comment re: that fantasy series (unironically, even!), but I'm too busy deciding which alignment I want my half-elven ranger thief to be! (there's that irony)

It's a good TV show!

But my radio show is better!

Looks like yr on the right side of history, at least.
