	5:29pm Otis Fodder: Yes! Lemmy and Hawkwind, early 70s. One of his first bands, yea.

	♥ 5:32pm Rich in Washington: Funny. A friend was just now ranting about Kaiser Permanente's (a local healthcare provider) on-hold music and was just thinking of the infamous Opus #1 with its delayed drum slaps, almost exactly like this song.
	5:32pm Otis Fodder: Lime - Legendary Montreal Disco Duo.
	5:33pm Otis Fodder: So true, the delayed drum slaps.
	♥ 5:33pm Rich in Washington: Lemmy was in a couple of swingin' mod bands, then Sam Gopal, where he sang and played guitar, and then gave up performing to be a roadie, then sort of snuck into Hawkwind via his speedfreak pal Dik Mik.
	♥ 5:34pm Rich in Washington: That Sam Gopal LP Elevator is something else. You'd never guess it was Lemmy. It's like really dark psychedelic music fronted by a tabla player.
	5:34pm Otis Fodder: Sneakin' into a band. :)
	♥ 5:35pm Rich in Washington: I love instrumental electronic music from this era. It's the stuff the kids are all trying to emulate now.
	♥ 5:36pm Rich in Washington: The story is, he was sort of hanging around, then their bass player didn't show up for a gig, so Lemmy took over, playing that guy's bass and he was immediately in.
	♥ 5:37pm Rich in Washington: And had their biggest hit to date. Then, like Eno in Roxy Music, people were sort of looking at him as a front man, so it led to tension in the band.
	♥ 5:38pm Rich in Washington: but I love how Lemmy put it - he and Dik Mik were into the wrong drugs - the band into LSD and Lemmy and DM way, WAY into speed.
	5:38pm Otis Fodder: I'm going to dig into the early Lemmy history. I haven't heard anything pre-Hawkwind. Another musical journey.
	♥ 5:39pm Rich in Washington: Elevator's a pretty good psych album. Sort of one-note, but pretty good.

	♥ 5:33pm Rich in Washington: Lemmy was in a couple of swingin' mod bands, then Sam Gopal, where he sang and played guitar, and then gave up performing to be a roadie, then sort of snuck into Hawkwind via his speedfreak pal Dik Mik.
	♥ 5:34pm Rich in Washington: That Sam Gopal LP Elevator is something else. You'd never guess it was Lemmy. It's like really dark psychedelic music fronted by a tabla player.

	♥ 5:36pm Rich in Washington: The story is, he was sort of hanging around, then their bass player didn't show up for a gig, so Lemmy took over, playing that guy's bass and he was immediately in.
	♥ 5:37pm Rich in Washington: And had their biggest hit to date. Then, like Eno in Roxy Music, people were sort of looking at him as a front man, so it led to tension in the band.
