Sorry, this is at max volume here; something is out of whack with the computer levels.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 12:16pm βrian:

It's ok for me, though lower than the main stream.

  Wed. 2/6/19 12:30pm rw:

Such drama!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 2/6/19 12:31pm Yvang:

Wow! My building shaked!
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 12:41pm Sem:

Pray to the hand.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 12:42pm Mary Wing:

Heh, what's that supposed to mean, Sem?
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 12:45pm Sem:

As opposed to "Talk to the hand."

Beats me, Mary. The fingers type and I am often surprised.
  Wed. 2/6/19 12:45pm βrian:

Buildings are not supposed to shake, generally.
  Wed. 2/6/19 12:49pm rw:

What's the sound of one hand praying?
  Wed. 2/6/19 12:50pm rw:

And don't ask. I have no idea either.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 12:51pm Mary Wing:

  Wed. 2/6/19 12:51pm rw:

Also, Sem's fingers are genius as far as I can tell.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 12:53pm Mary Wing:

Agreed, indeed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 2/6/19 12:54pm fred:

Good afternoon Mary and all. I'll be listening until it's time for me to go to dance show nearby
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 12:55pm Mary Wing:

Hello fred! A show of dances?
And hello everyone, by the way, thanks for hanging with me today!
  Wed. 2/6/19 12:56pm spodiodi:

Thanks you for the nice tunes, Mary Wing
  Wed. 2/6/19 12:58pm îke:

I try not to let my fingers type without my brain at least having a look-see at what’s going on just because in my case I never know kinda accidentally offensive rubbish is going to spew out. But your mileage may Mary! Errr... vary.
  Wed. 2/6/19 1:02pm spodiodi:

nobody knows that I talk to my fingers
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:04pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

I smell my fingers a lot.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:04pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

I used to obsess about Quadrophenia.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:05pm weinstein:

Who did I miss? Hello Mary and all! Here for the duration.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:06pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

I remember bodegas and Korean stores.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:10pm JakeGould:

At least the terms “Jewish Deli” and “Korean Deli” mean something. The way “Bodega” is just tossed around to basically mean *any* corner store is real annoying.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:11pm JakeGould:

And hello Mary Wing!
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:11pm Mary Wing:

Hi Ike, spodiodi. Neil, and Jake! You missed music, David, but I got lots more!
  Wed. 2/6/19 1:23pm holland oats:

omg this is ---- liquid sky?
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:24pm glenn:

liquid sky is... interesting.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:25pm david w:

This soundtrack and film kind of blew my little midwestern mind when I first came to NYC.
  Wed. 2/6/19 1:27pm holland oats:

i know it by heart, coming out at peak bowie for me, but it feels icky now
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:27pm Mary Wing:

I always wondered why it wasn't more of a cult classic.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:27pm glenn:

but then again, so is pneumonia.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:28pm Mary Wing:

Yeah, holland oats, when I watched it again a few years ago, it was pretty icky with all the non-consensual sexual activity.
  Wed. 2/6/19 1:29pm spodiodi:

I lost some of my hearing for good seeing Swervedriver in some basement-of-house club in Charlotte, NC in ... '93 ( I think). Worth it? maybe.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:30pm JakeGould:

I’ve been watching old Godzilla films the past few weeks and I gotta say: I love them because you get 100% exactly what you expect!
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:31pm glenn:

100% godzilla!
  Wed. 2/6/19 1:34pm rw:

I don't think I've seen Liquid Sky but I have vague memories of the early '80s. My daughter and I have endless conversations/arguments about judging events and actions of the past by the standards of the present.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:37pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@Jake-on the intersection of Houston and avenue B in Manhattan they were called bodegas because I think that's what the sign said. Also, there were always people speaking Spanish inside.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:37pm glenn:

now repo man, there's a movie.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:39pm βrian:

That movie made me appreciate "Food."
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:40pm JakeGould:

@WildNeil: Yeah, but the Lower East Side is a fair place to call corner shops that. Elsewhere in this city, corner stores that were basically newsstands with no Spanish people or food call these (mostly) Yemeni owned businesses “Bodegas.” So much bad in that.

Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:41pm Mary Wing:

Aw, Repo Man, yeah!
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:42pm Sem:

Agreed, Repo Man thoroughly and magically out there.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:43pm Sem:

...not least, HDS's zen acting.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:49pm glenn:

harry dean's record is surprisingly good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 2/6/19 1:50pm fred:

Time for me to go, bye
  Wed. 2/6/19 1:51pm rw:

fred! Enjoy the show!
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:51pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

My friend Pete saw Repo Man with his parents when he was 16. They thought the idea was interesting. Ha!
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 1:52pm JakeGould:

Harry Dean Stanton is really good in those depressed hang-dog on the edge of human viability roles.

I think either Herr Goebbels or Goring is credited with: "When I hear the word art, I reach for my revolver."

oh, okay then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 2/6/19 2:09pm steveo:

i have to admit my ignorance w/r/t this band but wikipedia says that one of the members is a "tape manipulator", so thanks for the intro

Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 2:21pm βrian:

Have you heard the term MAGAT, short for MAGA troglodyte?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 2/6/19 2:22pm Ike:

Oooo, I think I like the Graham Coxon and Lenardo/Bergman versions best so far. They both sound fiercer than the others.

Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 2:32pm Mary Wing:

88 versions seems a *bit* much, even for me.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 2:32pm Roberto:

Wait, maybe they were talking about their copy of Revolver this whole time? I used to reach for that a lot.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 2:33pm Mary Wing:

Heh heh, Roberto for the win!
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 2:33pm Sem:

Heh heh, Roberto.

Saw Greatest Kissers in The World, Peboy, and Social Distortion in 91 (I think) in Chapel Hill - great show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 2/6/19 2:34pm Ike:

Actually, almost each version is fiercer than the previous one, except maybe Elpaso. Are these arranged by fierceness? Heh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 2/6/19 2:34pm Michael 98145:

{ where -is- Diane K these days ?? }

I dined at Moby's restaurant in L.A. last year. It was really good. I briefly saw him milling about. Also, we were born on the same day so there's that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 2/6/19 2:38pm Ike:

A remix is a good choice because the regular Moby version sounds a lot like the Graham Coxon version. Or is it a lot like the Ordinary Day version? One of those. I think. Maybe.

Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 2:42pm glenn:

well, he may be a tosser, i totally agree, but he is related to herman melville. that's pretty cool.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 2:42pm Parq:

My Moby story is that I saw him play out at the Mermaid Ball at the NYC Aquarium a few years back. The A-Bones opened.

I had a client that lived next door to Moby. She still owes me $. I have one more Moby story but it's not worth telling unless you know the personalities involved.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 2/6/19 2:51pm Ike:

I don't remember that being on the album "Ferment" by The Catherine Wheel. (The band added "The" at some point because they were tired of being mistaken for a woman named Catherine.) That must be a bonus track.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 2:51pm Mary Wing:

It's a bonus track on the 2010 reissue, Ike.
Avatar Wed. 2/6/19 2:52pm glenn:
