I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

@coelacanth∅ Really? I think lily is my most fav flower. But I didn't know Mondrian did so many lily paintings including this one. |
Sat. 1/26/19 12:09pm
Katsuko:
Lillies are clearly the most beautiful flowers on earth.

Thanks for tuning in, Mark R! I'm glad you made in time for this very important track! |

![]() My curse is still going strong into this year: since October, almost every time I go to a dance show, I have to miss a concert I wanted to go to. Then there are days when I have nothing to do but go home. At least there's WFMU there, but still |

lilies are beautiful. interesting textures and color variations. i think i'm just bored of them, very generally speaking, because they're so common; and most people grow the same types of lilies. ...but even if they weren't so easy to grow and common i'd probably still like orchids more, in their seemingly endless variety and sometimes straight-up bizarre tendencies. |
Sat. 1/26/19 12:30pm
JakeGould:
@Mayuko: Yup! I grew up with them when I lived near the boardwalk in Brighton Beach. They don’t stress me. Just entertain me! Help them when/if I can.

@coelacanth∅ yeah, orchids really are bizarre flowers. like ghost orchid! feels too haunting to have them around all the time though. I think what I really like is just white lily, plain and quiet ones, doesn't overwhelm me. Funny how flowers can influence on your mind. |

Sat. 1/26/19 12:42pm
Mayuko:
@Jake You Brooklynite! It's difficult for me to get used to someone screaming N words and banging his door and walls all the time! |
![]() |
![]() Boss of mine used to attend an orchid exhibition at either the NY or Queens Botanical Garden each year, don't recall which. Tend to think the latter b/c she was an LIC rez. |
Sat. 1/26/19 12:44pm
Listener Gregory:
The NY Botanical Garden has an annual orchid show. It is very impressive.
Sat. 1/26/19 12:47pm
JakeGould:
@Mayuko Well if my neighbor was screaming the N word and banging the walls near me I’d confront them. But if they are on the street and I don’t k is them? Ehhh… Smile and walk past them.

Hey Mayuko and Listenerds! Very busy at work today so not many opportunities to join in on the chat. :( |
![]() |
Sat. 1/26/19 12:47pm
Mayuko:
@Listener Gregory It's kind of too bad that it's often all about the grids now when we talk/think about Mondrian in general. I guess his other paintings are not that much "revolutionary" or whatever, but some of them are really nice. |

i've *almost* been to the orchid show a few times. -there used to be an orchid shop on 6th ave, nyc i'd visit just to look. |
