Hello carol from a new listener to WMFU
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 6:09am fred:

@John: Welcome!
  Sun. 1/13/19 6:10am John:

Thanks Fred
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 6:13am jkeigh:

Ooh, I knew those notes from the Shutov Assembly the instant they started. I used to play this album in the dark a lot back in the early 90s and then usually fall asleep and have some cool dreams too.
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 6:13am CarolCrow:

fred! duke! jkeigh! Kevin-san! Welcome John! So happy to have you all here:)
Sun. 1/13/19 6:17am David in London:

Morning Carol and all you groovy people out there.
Sun. 1/13/19 6:18am David in London:

Should add that you, Carol, are chief groover...
  Sun. 1/13/19 6:19am John:

Thanks carol I have been going more and more to non commercial radio, more freedom
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 6:22am fred:

I'm taking part in a month-long media survey where I have to log what I listen to or watch. Which boils down to when I'm listening to WFMU (not a choice in the original list, but I could add it)
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 6:22am CarolCrow:

@David@6:18: Why, that is very kind of you to say:) Happy to have you aboard:)
Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 6:27am upstate sean:

whatup carol, carolers
  Sun. 1/13/19 6:29am John:

Fred add it, they might wonder what kind of station it is
Sun. 1/13/19 6:30am David in London:

Rarely can the phrase “I’m also a nurse “ have provoked such fear.
Sun. 1/13/19 6:32am David in London:

@fred - my survey would look exactly the same these days. I’ve largely turned off the BBC now and it’s FMU all the way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 6:32am fred:

@John: I did, and that was part of my thinking (I don't think any human will ever see it, but a small sample size may have my listening get inflated to a report of a million WFMU listeners in France)
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 6:34am CarolCrow:

@sean@6:27: Haha! Thanks for being with us:)
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 6:35am Sem:

Good morning, Ms. Crow, and greets, SMS regulars, and newcomers, such as John.
  Sun. 1/13/19 6:37am John:

@dave there is iggy poop on radio 6 on fridays around 7 your time pretty good stuff
@Fred sounds like a plan
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 6:38am CarolCrow:

@David@6:30: Right? Ha:)
  Sun. 1/13/19 6:39am John:

Sorry Dave iggy pop
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 6:39am CarolCrow:

Good morning, Sem!
Sun. 1/13/19 6:42am David in London:

@john, not completely, you’re right. There are still good things like the Ig and The Freak Zone on 6Music (and football at the weekend), but I used to listen to a lot of the BBC version of what I think in America would be called ‘talk radio’, eg Radio 4, and I’ve more or less given that up for FMU completely now.
  Sun. 1/13/19 6:43am John:

Gave have really listened since Simon left PM
  Sun. 1/13/19 6:44am John:

@Dave I do like jo good on bbc London
  Sun. 1/13/19 6:45am John:

Have not listened since Simon left PM

Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 6:54am Sem:

Powerful mix.
Sun. 1/13/19 7:01am David in London:

Dark set is good. Keep it coming.
  Sun. 1/13/19 7:03am ignatatus666:

Great breakdown to end my shift
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:03am ben abs:

@David, also gave up on the beeb a few yrs ago, 6music was just recycling the same old playlists and became boring and predictable. It was a good gateway station though, and Sunday service was fantastic for the first couple of yrs. Now I'm almost exclusively FMU with the odd dip into NTS (once a month maybe for an hour or so)
Sun. 1/13/19 7:05am David in London:

First Reformed was a massive return to form by Schrader I thought. Just don’t mention the, ahem, unorthodox surplice...eek.
  Sun. 1/13/19 7:05am John:

@ben what does NTS stand for
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:07am ben abs:

@John - NTS is a London based internet radio station
  Sun. 1/13/19 7:08am John:

Gotcha Ben thanks
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 7:12am CarolCrow:

Hey there, ignatatus! Hello ben:) Welcome!
  Sun. 1/13/19 7:15am John:

@ben just downloaded it on my phone will check it later
Sun. 1/13/19 7:17am David in London:

@ben abs - agreed. With the exception of The Freak Zone, which is consistently good. Years back I used to have a problem with Stuart Maconie when he just seemed to be a snarky talking head on ‘I love the 70s’ type shows, but he’s really great on that. What I love about FMU is the plurality, every show seems utterly it’s own thing. I don’t think my bank manager appreciates it as much, though, given how much it makes me purchase as a result...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:18am fred:

I like this Timothy North track (and I also enjoyed the segue from Kaleema, if that makes sense)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:24am ben abs:

hahaha @David - yes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:28am Aaron Working In Newark:

Oh CarolCrow its so nice to hear your laugh this morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:28am fred:

WFMU has made my life richer, but certainly not in a financial way. A depleted bank account and a smile on your face are known side-effects of listening to this station
Sun. 1/13/19 7:31am David in London:

And a selection of FMU t-shirts for all occasions.
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 7:33am CarolCrow:

Aaron, it is always a pleasure to have you here (and hear)! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:36am Aaron Working In Newark:

I was laying in bed earlier trying to get up to get my butt to work and that first set was perfect for it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:39am fred:

@David: and FMU T-shirts mean sometimes people from the band you're going to see come up to talk to you (seriously, it happens, weirdest was Mission of Burma, in a street, not even in the venue)
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 7:43am Ruth Booth:

Happy Good Morning!
  Sun. 1/13/19 7:44am John:

I have added more songs from FMU to my personal playlist on Spotify
Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:44am upstate sean:

amen to that, Fred -I've had lots of cool conversations from wearing an fmu tshirt. It's like a litmus test for people who are in it for the right reasons :)
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 7:45am Elle Elle:

Good morning and good day, all, from a snow-dusted [dot on some maps in] NJ.
@CarolCrow, been enjoying your show for months, just quietly - I haven’t commented since my first couple of listens.

Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 7:54am Sem:

I dream of working at Burgerama.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:56am fred:

@upstate sean: I think part of that is wearing a WFMU T-shirt isn't just saying you listen to the station, but that you supported it
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 7:58am Matthew_London:

Hey Carol
Hey listeners ;)
  Sun. 1/13/19 8:00am John:

@fred I may be able too afford the swag right now but I do support this station in other ways like mentioning it too people
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 8:04am Elle Elle:

@John, I agree it looks wonderful. I just don’t love trying to stay upright walking on it once it’s accumulated into a snowy icy mess on sidewalks and parking lots!
  Sun. 1/13/19 8:06am Jeffrey Davison:

One of the Carol Crew checking in...always a pleasure to have you on the airwaves.
  Sun. 1/13/19 8:08am John:

@elle you do have a point there, have to go to my sisters for dinner tonight that will be interesting to try and drive there
Avatar Sun. 1/13/19 8:14am Elle Elle:

@John hopefully it won’t be enough today to leave us with hazardous walking or driving conditions later on.
Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 8:17am upstate sean:

yeah good point fred
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 1/13/19 8:17am fred:

@John: do what you can, the station will not be there if we don't do our part, however small it might seem
  Sun. 1/13/19 8:17am John:

OMG Neil young thank you carol
  Sun. 1/13/19 8:17am John:

Elle I hope not
Sun. 1/13/19 8:17am Chris in Philly:
