Artist Track Album Label Year Comments New Approx. start time
PTNOTRremixProject  2018 News Headlines In One Minute (The Children)   Favoriting     2019    *
Atmosphere  Graffiti   Favoriting Mi Vida Local  Rhymesayers Entertainment  2018  Atmosphere, the veteran Midwest hip-hop duo of emcee "Slug" Sean Daley and producer "Ant" (Anthony Davis), dropped their eight studio album in a two-decade plus career; Mi Vida Local 2LP (also on CD). Formed back in 1996 in Minneapolis Slug and Ant are as surprised as anyone that they are still making music all these years; all of which they take in stride. Since becoming a father Slug became a purveyor of "dad rap" which is among the categories to fie Mi Vida Local under. Note there's an accompanying video for this song on YouTube    0:01:16 (Pop-up)
DJ Quest + DJ ALF  Are You A Philosopher (PT 2 WFMU Summer 2018 exclusive session)   Favoriting   WFMU   2018  Not released, but an exclusive to WFMU this amazing collaboration between PTNOTR family member DJ ALF with frequent show guest DJ Quest is one of three that they joined creative forces on for WFMU for the Summer 2018 series. Impressive about this is that it reminds us of how consistently relevant DJ Premier remains. Three decades into a long illustrious and influential career DJ Premier is still going strong and doing inspired collaborations with so many different artists. In this case the full length collaboration in which does not stick to one tired formula but explores new areas in his production. 17-track, 52 minute album guests included Dave East, Roc Marciano, Rapsody, Big K.R.I.T., and CeeLo Green.    0:10:11 (Pop-up)

In 2018 the emcee who first came to fame as a member of The Roots, who has not dropped a solo album in a while, released two incredible albums; “Streams of Thought Vol 1” with 9th Wonder and Khrysis and “Streams of Thought Vol 2” with Salaam Remi. Both are amazing with songs such as “Twofifteen” with 9th Wonder off Vol 1 on which Black Thought drops such memorable lines as “back when Burning Man was Blacks in Birmingham.” Meanwhile among the many great tracks on Vol 2 is of “Streams of Thought Vol 2” is “Fentanyl” that examines the leading cause of drug overdoses in the USA as per CDC in 2018.    0:22:57 (Pop-up)
