Wasn't Annabella like 14 or so when she did this? She was my age, so she was 15 in 1982.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:50pm steveo:

is youtube the new local tv?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:50pm Chris from DC:

DEBRIS!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:53pm JakeGould:

Hey Scott!

Gonna post two quick movie reviews:

9 1/2 Weeks (1986): Never saw it before. Just saw it. Hilarious self parody of itself. Stupid movie otherwise. The “sex” scenes are so bad on so many levels. Recommending if you like “Silk Stalkings.”

Mad Max (1980): Rewatching for the first time since about when Brett Kavanaugh gang raped some poor woman. Not bad, but some of the scenes drag on or play out like some Warner Brothers cartoon. Other than Mel Gibson and the antagonist, nobody can act. Not a great film.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:56pm crateslinger:

Nothing is local except surveillance cameras.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:56pm steveo:

love this guitar
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:57pm northguineahills:

what steveo said!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:57pm northguineahills:

@Jake: I rewatched Mad Max two years ago and came to the same conclusion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:58pm JakeGould:

The one thing that stultified me when I first visited the midwest back in the early 1990s was how horrible local news is. It can only be worse in 2018.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:58pm northguineahills:

I saw Baby Momma this weekend, as it had Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who are both great actors and writers, but that movie was shite!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:59pm Stanley:

Th' Captain!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:59pm JakeGould:

@NGH: It’s like some of the chase scenes are amazing, but it stinks. I mean I can laugh at “Escape from New York” nowadays, but the movie holds up tons better as far as post-apocalyptic hells cape 1980 films go.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 3:59pm crateslinger:

I once met the weather girl for Cleveland television news waiting for a plane at JFK. She was nice enough.
  Mon. 9/24/18 3:59pm Mary Claire:

ice cream for who???
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:00pm JakeGould:

I generally like all of the NY1 on air personalities. Great people!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:00pm Linda Lee:

Beefheart! we will live again.
thanks, Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:01pm Scott Williams:

are we really sitting here talking about how stupid movies and people USED TO BE?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:01pm Chris from DC:

I needed this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:02pm Carmichael:

This is your Captain speaking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:02pm Linda Lee:

this collaboration was wonderful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:03pm JakeGould:

@Scott: No, I complimented some things. Here, let me say “Bad News Bears,” “Every Which Way But Loose,” “Heathers,” “Breaking Away” and lots of other films are great.

I’m just saying two films—one I never saw before and one I haven’t seen in decades—stink.

I think “Flashdance” is great; same director as “9 1/2 Weeks” but better film.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:03pm Linda Lee:

cannot believe i won't be at the Wake auction to hear Gary Lucas! but you should be.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:06pm Linda Lee:

i may just send my head.
  Mon. 9/24/18 4:06pm prudy:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:06pm JakeGould:

I will also say that incense is great… But I tried a smudge stick (sage) this weekend and holy shit did I hate that think. My eyes are still dry from that and the smell… It’s like three was a Blues Traveller show in my living room!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:08pm crateslinger:

This is some hippy spin dancing, hair sweeping, arm snaking stuff right here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:08pm JakeGould:

You’re great Scott! There I said it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:10pm JakeGould:

And as long as my spelling is screwed up let me just say, please if you get a chanse put some flowrs on Algernons grave in the bak yard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:11pm Linda Lee:

spoke a little too soon there, crateslinger :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:12pm JakeGould:

If anyone here likes hippie spin dancing, here is a pro tip: Every thrift store in the world has Spin Doctors and Blues Traveller CDs up for grabs. No reason to delay joy!

Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:17pm Devin B.:

Yeah this is great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:17pm Linda Lee:

what's funny: this was post late 70s - early 80s skinhead punk. go figga.
Avatar Mon. 9/24/18 4:20pm geezerette:

peace, love, and irony.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:21pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

GOOD LORD, for some reason this Akiko Yano piece reminded me of "The Problem" from Godley & Creme's SNACK ATTACK lp, which i haven't thought about since it was new.

The brain is a strange place indeed.
Avatar Mon. 9/24/18 4:22pm geezerette:

This record!!! Drums and noses.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:22pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

the 1900's
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:23pm Linda Lee:

what is it about so many early-mid 80s recordings that sound like they were made in a tin can?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:24pm crateslinger:

I like music from the 1900's mostly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:25pm Linda Lee:

i've got some of that on disc!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:26pm Linda Lee:

Hold on to that, Linda. Gonna be worth something some day!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:26pm steveo:

there is also some nice stuff from the twenty hundreds that i am into
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:26pm northguineahills:

I prefer the more modernist sharp swinging beats of the 1910s....
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:27pm Linda Lee:

maybe so. it sure ain't now! :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:27pm Linda Lee:

collectors are so picky. nothing but pristine first pressings count for anything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:28pm Chris from DC:

Yay, Grex! Nice to hear them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:28pm Linda Lee:

i keep them for enjoyment. period. they're too heavy otherwise! :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:29pm crateslinger:

It goes like this:
1700s - Bach
1800s - Wagner
1900s - Fang
2000s - TBD
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:29pm Linda Lee:

i'm sorry. Fang?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:31pm crateslinger:

Yeah, Fang. Well, either Fang or Steely Dan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:32pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

terrible shame the Steely Fang project never gained traction.
Avatar Mon. 9/24/18 4:32pm geezerette:

I have a Josephine Baker 78 , bought at a French flea market, that I
have never been able to play.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:33pm steveo:

We had a record player that did 78 in about 1975, geez; stop on by with your time machine.

Thanks, Steveo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 9/24/18 4:34pm Linda Lee:

Thanks again, Scott W.

Ewa again : "… she sings of love, anxiety, despair… the green meadows and forests…
the taste of tears and the taste of grapes, the smell of sweet peas and roses, the wind
… the silence of September twilight, the heat of summer – water, fire and earth
… the war and the war’s cruel death
… Ossian’s mystery play
… Soloman’s accesses of love…
The music composed by Zygmunt Konieczny and Andrzej Zarycki combines elements of the old music and contemporary vanguard; it expresses the atmosphere of poetry in a perfect manner."
