Oh, and on the outsider-art tip; if you're stuck in Evanston, Illinois, get breakfast at the Lucky Platter - plenty of freakish images on the walls, and don't forget your apricot cheese flakey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm
Irwin:

Crud, you make a good argument for my next vacation destination.

A story of hipster Japanese audio ---sters visiting might be more plausible than armed auditors????
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm

There really is a team of auditors upstairs. OK, no guns.

Hi Irwin and everyone else. Nice mix of old and new (no, I'm not an auditor, but I have played one in a training video)

Auditory Auditors, LLC? You better get the album title in your playlist for that song you just played, Chusid!

Irwin-like IRS auditors or more like ISO 90001 Auditors or other?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:36pm

Apparently there's a band called The Auditors. Couldn't find much on them, except this youtu.be...

This Prince piece is quite fascinating.

L. Ron Hoover church of appliantology auditors? Inaudible auditors?
Avatar 3:43pm
KRYPT:

@Fredricks, indeed, I think Juan Atkins may have been thinking of this when he wrote the track "Mind and Body" featured on that eponymous album, maybe?
  3:43pm
morphe:

I was audited in the early 90s for claiming trips to Paris as a biz loss..The auditor's name was John Debugno - seriously true story.. Debugno working for IRS!!!!!!
It was in an old, tall office building around TSQ. Reminded me of the office in Python guy's Brazil....old and cool and creepy...
It was a cubicle style office... At one point he lowered his head and whispered:"You should settle with me. Once it goes over to collections it's horrible; those guys are animals!!!"
Avatar 3:46pm
Jack:

When I worked for a big pharma company, if you fucked up and failed at everything else, they'd make you an auditor.

Hello Irwin, never been on your comments board before, but really love your show.

@Jack-what a beautiful system. Of course, nobody had any axes to grind with their old bosses or coworkers whatsoever. Brilliant!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:47pm

@morphe crossing my heart that I don't ever get audited. Been consulting for 25 years and not an inquiry. Only 6 more years to retirement...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm

I mean even if the art collection is shallow... the apricot cheese flakey is one of the top ten things I've ever put in my mouth, _easy_.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm

feh, wish I could stay for the rest of this show. back later.

Well I guess Juan and Prince must just have been on the same minimal page there.

"Any deviation from Standard Operating Procedures will result in a citation!" I got cited once; I used a 2x2 gauze for a procedure, instead of a 3x3 gauze as per SOP. My hardass boss actaully laughed at that one.

@KRYPT I dunno but it may be laundry-related somehow, a guy here (and it may have been a FEMALE* guy, deal with it, Fabio!) told me WFMU really stands for "Wide Format Men's Underwear".

*Every time I read the word "female" I hear it in my mind pronounced with a Ferengi accent.

@Crubringer, Fabio is a sage being, I hear the word "none" in my mind as pronounced by Christopher Guest in the role of Nigel Tufnell in This Is Spinal Tap, "None more black". It has only improved my life experience.

@morphe Alas, I'm a faux Frenchman and haven't been to France for about 15 years. The name and avatar are the result of a prank I played on friends a number of years ago when they kept bugging me to join something I wasn't interested in. The company I'm subbing to has a social media policy, so I stuck with Phillippe whenever I sign up for anything public-facing. Not sure why I still play the game because Phillippe gets mail and it showed up as an AKA on my last clearance background check.

@Irwin. I saw her opening date (Japanese Breakfast) of her prior (or current?) tour in DC. Not particularly good, though they had a lot of technical issues. Pussy Riot opened, tho, and they were fabulous.
  5:02pm

Good question. I suppose it depends on how one views atom bombs.

Why is it that "I'm a Tangerine" directly invokes psychedelia, but "I'm a Meatloaf" not so much?
