I actually thought the Beavis & Butthead revival was pretty great. The 2000s Ren & Stimpy... not so much.

@Dean been grooving to Hildegarde's 10,000 Virgins recently. I was wondering if the migraines that she was taken with were mis-read as visions.

Heard Rachel Sweet live right about then, maybe '79, Whisky-a-Go-Go.
  11:10am
Rick A.:

Anita Morris was the actress in the "She Was Hot" video. She was a Tony award winning actress from the musical 9. She was almost forty when she was in that video which represented a sadly seldom example of a woman close to forty allowed to be sexy in American media.

Sad to read about Anita Morris...she died at 51.

I liked the film "Absolute Beginners" even though it got panned. Bowie dancing on a typewriter if memory serves.

@Dean, Oliver Sacks makes mention of Hildegarde at the begining of one of his books.
  11:46am
Dean:

My go-to source for things Hildegard is the literary historian Peter Dronke, who happened to have penned the liner notes to Sequentia's *first* traversal of the Ordo Virtutum. (They recorded it twice!) Dronke advised the group, too, about the various genres of medieval poetry that serve as the texts of songs they perform. Independent of the music and recordings, Dronke's work is strong.
