To his credit though, Burt loved puppies, walks on the beach and the color taupe. Well maybe not but you know what I mean... we have to appreciate the overall. Like after the guy in Deliverance cries at the dinner table in silence . Then ironically , among all of them , Ned’s character profoundly says ‘This corn is special’. I submit to you Fabio that this show is the ‘corn’ of our Deliverance. Something to appreciate.

I'm reminded of a frustrating habit of the Guardian to publish self-obsessed opinion pieces like "Is it OKAY to still like Kevin Spacey films?" after his misbehavior came to light. ... like asking for permission or checking with the neighbors before liking something.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm
fred:

Aren't many opinion pieces self-obsessed?
Avatar 4:32pm
Linda Lee:

that's an interesting one too, because if an artist is continually evolving then the next piece might be brilliant. but you've written the artist off ..
Avatar 4:32pm
MacGuffin:

Hear, hear, Linda. I like Burt Reynolds movies and I love the work of Miles Davis and Picasso, and I always will. I would still be fine with the police dragging them off to jail, though. Give the Great Artist Tree another shake, there's plenty more waiting to drop.
Avatar 4:33pm

considering that the closest we're likely to get to most artists is knowing their work ~ might as well discount one for the other.
Avatar 4:34pm

soaking my foot in peroxide (i stepped on a board with a rusty nail), drove home in a wicked thunderstorm with flash flood alerts and had to stop to move a small tree out of the road while the ass behind me who was flashing his lights for me to go faster just sat and watched. the sump pump was running non stop but seems to be taking some breaks now. thank god for gin and strength through failure.

Gotta get in the car and drive home but I’ll be listening along with you as my copilot Fabio just like in Smokey and the Bandit, good buddy . Actually i never saw the movie but it is my understanding that it involves an illegal shipment of Coors beer when said beer was not sold east the Mississippi and an ensuing car chase take place . Brought to you by Coors, the banquet beer. Dreck.

When I'm aware of a puncture wound (I usually bleed a lot due to Von Willebrand's syndrome), I usually just use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. When doing home surgery on myself, I dip the scalpel in the aforementioned then put it under a flame. I somehow nicked myself w/o noticing (I'm not good at noticing discomfort or pain) and got a staph infection. See the Dr tomorrow. Be careful out there!

oh was this the day we were supposeed to injure ourselves somewhat worse than the usual? i didn't realise and screwed up - stopped working and came inside before the lightning was even touching down on the property.
put away 3 trips-worth of tools in a shed, a garage and a car; closed my car windows; got my shirt that was drying in the sun; got the dogs inside; closed garage doors etc and as soon as i got inside lightning struck right at the house. a waterfall of rain and an avalanche of hail. the electricity went out and the generator failed. restarted. failed...a few more times... then lots of sirens. dogs are scared. neighbors standing in their doors. it's still going on but i guess the generator is holding up.
