this is such a GROOOOOVVVEEE! Yeah!
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:32am northguineahills:

I'm in and out, thanks Joel!
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:32am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Alas, I currently live in a country where weed possession would get you a mandatory five years in prison and between three to nine lashes with a rattan cane.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:33am Joel St. Germain:

oh shit!! I was thinking of visiting Malaysia this year but Kuala Lumpur looks BORING!! I'm thinking Indonesia now. plan b is GREECE
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:33am northguineahills:

Not hitting the herb until I finish cleaning to this history pod w/ your sounds, I'm either amazing or horrible at multitasking....
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 7/22/18 12:34am Ken From Hyde Park:

Give the Drummer Doug is just returning from a trip to Greece, I believe.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:35am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

@Joel: KL is actually pretty cool. I would start with Penang first, though. If you were taking a trip in either Malaysia or Indonesia, I wouldn't stay in just one locale.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:35am Joel St. Germain:

Herweg is in Greece. I'M GREEK
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:37am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

I would say start in Penang, work your way on down through Ipoh, KL, Malacca and Singapore, then maybe take a ferry or a cheap flight down to Indonesia. If you need someone to show you some of the better haunts and food places in KL (which has some of the world's best food), I'm always down.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:37am northguineahills:

I've only been across the border about 50km into Johor, Malaysia from Singapore...
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:38am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

The good thing over here is that transportation costs aren't expensive. You could even stop in Bangkok and take a cheap flight into Penang.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:39am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

@northguineahills: Oh, so not just Johor Bahru? JB is kind of boring, but the rest of Johor is beautiful.
  Sun. 7/22/18 12:39am Cooh John:

Greek is great!
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:39am Joel St. Germain:

I'll consider it. I know if I go to Malaysia I will come home a pants size heavier. Indonesia I would do a lot of exploring as well as eating with my left hand , Malaysia I would just eat like a factory farmed pate goose
  Sun. 7/22/18 12:40am Cooh John:

Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:40am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Haha. That's why I bought a second-hand treadmill after I moved over here.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:41am northguineahills:

@Chris: Just an amazing restaurant and an ancient colonial rubber plantation. I'm a history dork, and wanted to see it for myself.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:41am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

You can't jog outside in the heat, so.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:42am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Oh yeah, that's cool. There are plenty of both in Johor, I know. And the border at Singapore isn't too bad in terms of crossing; you can do it for a day trip if all your papers are in order and your passport is from one of the countries they like.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:43am Sig:

I like the multi cultural hot spots of planet earth
  Sun. 7/22/18 12:43am sicilian papi:

u should visit Sicily
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:44am northguineahills:

Meh, when my knees still worked (they stopped after multiple surgeries as age 30 (stupid futbol!), I would jog in 40C 95% relative humidity (that's in FL) In NYC, I'd jog in blizzards at -12C. You just have to prepare yourself.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:44am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

@northguineahills: What did you think of Singapore?
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:44am Joel St. Germain:

ahhh those drum fills are the same as Wonderful Time .. my brain pulled this one at the last sec , knows better than my liminal brain
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:45am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

@northguineahills: I wish I were able to. Maybe it's just me, since I've always been a very heavy sweater no matter what. I do a lot better in blizzards than I do in heat.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:47am northguineahills:

Sicilian Papi is full of good ideas.

Singapore: amazing food, my brother almost fell off a cliff in Sentosa, and and paternal government to boot, lah!
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:49am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Haha. Excellent, lah. Aside from almost falling off a cliff in Sentosa.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:49am northguineahills:

@joel: my neighbor caught me pop 'n lockin' while gardening at night, does that count?
  Sun. 7/22/18 12:51am Robin:

Mmm digging this one
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:52am northguineahills:

Holing on to my brother from a 25m cliff over the sea until my other brother could help me pull him up was hollywood-worthy.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:53am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:54am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Well, that was a shift!
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:54am northguineahills:

(Never jog aside on seaside cliffs is the lesson I took away from that venture)
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:55am northguineahills:

That Coro album cover, I need it! *to discogs!*
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:56am Joel St. Germain:

the back is good too!
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:58am northguineahills:

The Choir was on Norton, that was unexpected!
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 12:59am Joel St. Germain:

Cool man. Yeah I like to rinse out the wimps ya know
  Sun. 7/22/18 12:59am Cooh John:

Is there an Ohio connection with The Choir?
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:00am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Yeah, they were Cleveland-based, I believe.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:01am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Or at least, they were only famous in and around Cleveland. I first heard about them because one of my friends was from C-bus.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:01am northguineahills:

@Chris: I've been told I can speak Singlish, lah! (I also speak Spanglish)
  Sun. 7/22/18 1:02am Cooh John:

Gotcha. Cbus based. O-H......
Sun. 7/22/18 1:03am DL in LA:

Simms Bros was sort of Doobie Bros-ish?
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:03am Joel St. Germain:

absoultely incredible record.. both sides.. one copy left on discogs.. someone buy
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:03am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Were they? Wouldn't surprise me -- surprisingly good music scene around the 'Bus.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:04am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

I love both this song and the cover to the album.
  Sun. 7/22/18 1:05am Cooh John:

Still dancing, seriously.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:05am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

It's like a 1980s version of Ken's "By Request Only."
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:05am Joel St. Germain:

Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:05am Joel St. Germain:

email Ken and tell him that
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:06am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

I probably ought to.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:08am Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Awesome a-side, too -- you're right.
Avatar Sun. 7/22/18 1:10am Joel St. Germain:

Great music, but a read thru the message board is enough to bring you to suicide. WFMU sure does attract the most boring listeners. Anyway, back to the choons.
Avatar Wed. 7/25/18 12:34pm Joel St. Germain:

@ wakenfake LOL yeah I suppose that's true. You think I read any of this? The show is what's on the air.
