  12:16pm KP:

Happy Monday, Joe!
  12:16pm Agent Peter:

Yeah, Rank & File!
Sad reason that it's getting played of course..
  12:17pm KP:

Man, I had to sweat out that math question.
Avatar 12:17pm Rob from NM:

Hola a todos from 36°19'51.2"N 106°32'17.2"W, New Mexico! Sixteen Tons seg'ed to R&F just made my morning, thanks, yo.
  12:18pm Amy:

@Agent Peter Very sad reason indeed.
  12:19pm Agent Peter:

@Amy
Very dated video on youtube of this being performed on Alan Thicke show
Avatar 12:23pm northguineahills:

I have to admit until last week I was unfamiliar w/ Tony Kinman. Thanks for tribute Joe!
  12:23pm Amy:

@Agent Peter Thanks, I'll take a look.

@Joe, if you want to play the whole record, I won't object. :-) It's pretty short anyway.
  12:24pm sufferwords:

TK peace... a swell guy - we'll miss him
Avatar 12:24pm northguineahills:

errr, thanks for the tribute, joe (can't grammar on Mondays [or other days for that matter])
Avatar 12:26pm V Priceless:

  12:28pm Amy:

THE DILS!!! This is a great tribute to Tony, Joe.
  12:29pm egould310:

Coyote. Good song. Thanks for playing this.

Putting it all back together on a Monday morning; having spent a looong weekend making it all unravel.
Avatar 🎸 12:36pm David Shortell:

What was that song the Dils sang in "Up in Smoke"?
Avatar 12:38pm Joe B:

greetings all, thanks for tuning in!
Avatar 12:38pm Joe B:

you're not blank was the song in up in smoke
Avatar 12:39pm northguineahills:

As melinda said earlier, any "Louvin Spoonful"? (still wish the Louvin Brothers collaborated w/ the Lovin' Spoonful
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Hughie Considine:

The Raunch Hands and Replacements shared a punk backbone, but it for the Raunch Hands' country and rockabilly were essential, while Replacements seem foremost Stones-y rock in spirit.
Avatar 1:07pm Rob from NM:

Good manic outlaw western theme going, nice segues, really nice, you're good at this, Joe Bee.
Avatar 1:07pm Michael Shelley:

Sloan Essential Services = #1
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Hughie Considine:

Track #1 from the new Sloan is the one that hath slain me.
Avatar 1:12pm northguineahills:

Michael Shelley (obvious) and Hughie know their schiidt!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Hoboken Jack:

As a teen, I thought "Spit it on the Floor"'was the funniest thing ever.
Avatar 1:13pm Rob from NM:

Had to check and make sure I was listening to 'FMU and not KOSU outta Tulsa.
Avatar 1:13pm Joe B:

sloan so consistently great, still!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Hughie Considine:

And a fantastic live band. Seeing Chris Murphy go from frontman- with-a-bass to Keith Moon-like drummer and back again is a trip.
Avatar 1:18pm Joe B:

going thursday to bowery, can't wait. 2 sets, no opener!
Avatar 1:19pm northguineahills:

Yeah, sloan is amazing live. I have a live concert recording of theirs from around '96 when they seamlessly went from Canned Heat "On the Road Again" to Stereolab's "Transona Five" (w/ the same bass line) and had the crowd sing the chorus for the latter. (never seen them do that live, sadly).
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Hughie Considine:

Wow, that sounds stunning! They are fantastic musicians, one and all.
Avatar 1:21pm Joe B:

i first saw them around then NGH, and headliner fountains of wayne had the misfortune of following them onstage. they were blown out of the building
  1:22pm SeanG:

Sloan tonight in Boston!
Avatar 1:22pm Joe B:

wish i was there!
Avatar 1:24pm northguineahills:

super tributo, joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm Dominick:

all right!
Avatar 1:37pm SmokinJ:

Frosted Flaykes yes! Hiya jb & group..
  1:45pm Dennis Diken:

thanks for the great memories of Chandler (RIP) and Raunch Hands. sending a shout out to their fine drummer Vince Brnicevic!
  2:05pm Toothy:

Joe B: Thanks for reminding me of one of the most surreal shows lil' impressionable me ever saw: The Raunch Hands opening for Siouxie and the Banshees at Radio City Music Hall in the spring of 1986. It was a sea of black-clad teenage goths (and 14 year-old me). The setting was wrong, so wrong, in the very best sense. The Raunch Hands began playing when the venue was still only maybe 1/3 full, most folks still milling around the lobby. I think I recall them opening with "Thunderbird," just wailing away, sax blaring, and this tall, rail-thin, weedy-looking singer ripping it up. That was onstage. Out in the mostly empty seats people just looked confused. Some polite, but subdued, scattered applause. (Radio City holds about 6000, btw) I walked down the long sloping red carpeted aisle to the front of the stage, where it was pretty much deserted, and hopped up on top of a seat. Got to see one of the best rock n roll shows ever, in one of the most un-Raunch Hands-y settings ever. And needless to say, I started to lose interest in stuff like Siouxie and the Banshees pretty quickly after that. What's the word? THUNDERBIRD!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Mike Sin:

This is a quite a nice tribute, Joe. I'm enjoying very much.
Avatar 2:11pm Joe B:

thanks Mike! and thanks Toothy, that sounds awesome. i didn't know they had opened that show. sounds nuts!
Avatar 2:13pm Joe B:

hey dennis, yes shout out to Vince!
Avatar 2:13pm Joe B:

thanks NGH and smokinJ!
  2:13pm kev:

Avatar 2:14pm Dr. Goot:

Nice cover!
Avatar 2:14pm Joe B:

you won't be disappointed Kev
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Spankyflop:

How did I never hear the Raunch Hands before??? Somehow they slipped past my radar.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Ken From Hyde Park:

That's WFMU for ye. Picking up on the stuff most stations don't even care about.
Avatar 2:26pm rbx:

@Spankyflop - same! Better to learn late than never tho, eh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Maggie B.:

Thanks for all these Raunch Hands gems, Joe. They were so much fun to see live. Broke my heart to hear that Mike C lost his battle with cancer.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:28pm karlward:

This reminds me of Royal Trux so much.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:29pm karlward:

Though I guess it might be the other way around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Spankyflop:

Yes, better late than never. I was in my early twenties when these records came out. I would have been all over those.
  2:34pm Sissophonic Cheryl:

Hi Joe!
  2:35pm Bluesman:

Hi Mike Sin and Sissophonic!!!!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:35pm karlward:

I love this. Exactly why I listen to WFMU, I never heard Raunch Hands despite being always on the lookout for exactly the kind of insanity I'm hearing right now.
Avatar 2:45pm Itzall Ablurr:

"Hey-hey-hey-hey, it was the D.N.A., hey-hey-hey-hey, that made me this WAY!"
Avatar 2:45pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Gino and The Goons are no buffoons! Or maybe they are just the right kind of buffoons!
Avatar 2:49pm Dr. Goot:

Dig the Fire Heads, thanks Joe!
Avatar 2:50pm Joe B:

Dr it is bobby from the hussy on lead guitar!
Avatar 2:55pm Dr. Goot:

Thanks for the dope, Joe B, bitching set. You rock!
Avatar 2:56pm northguineahills:

The Prefab Messiahs, so dumb it's amazing! (hits me in the medulla oblongata!)
  2:57pm Allen Larman:

Joe, Another great show today!
Avatar 2:58pm Joe B:

thanks everybody!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Spankyflop:

karlward - yeah me too. My records-to-buy seems to grow longer whenever I listen, tho.
