Hello from the dreary and overcast Madison. The kids are on break, so it's quiet on the isthmus.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 12:02pm Tony Coulter:

Hey there, βrian!

Greetings from the land of cliches and stereotypes, apparently.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 12:06pm Tony Coulter:

Doesn't this Osmonds riff sound like the Immigrant Song riff?
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 12:07pm Tony Coulter:

fleep! fleep!

Hey, Dean!

Don't worry, βrian: your Eszett will save you from the miserable fate of other Brians.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 12:21pm βrian:

β vs ß. I'm hope I'm still immune.

Yeah, that'll still do it.

This should be followed up by Lesbian Seagull.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 12:45pm Tony Coulter:

Just got another record by Loring yesterday -- haven't heard it yet, though.

Ahoy, NGH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/27/18 12:46pm Rich in Washington:

Troy Corey looks a little bit like a young Steve Bannon
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 12:47pm Tony Coulter:

Hey, Rich! Unlike Bannon, though, he was always surrounded by babes -- on his record jackets, anyway.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 12:49pm northguineahills:

Hey, leave drugs out of this!

Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:03pm northguineahills:

Well, just when I thought I couldn't lose any more brain cells, Rick Cunha comes along...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/27/18 1:06pm JtotheK:

@NGH - did you catch the Rick Cunha chatter at the end of his track? sounds like he may still have weekly sessions of some sort. perhaps the back of the LP has his contact info to inquire, and then report back?
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:10pm Tony Coulter:

Plus, after the meetings, they gather at his house to watch some TV. Sounds like a good time.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:11pm northguineahills:

Tony, look at the album inlay sheets, inquiring minds want to know!
  Tue. 3/27/18 1:12pm Dean:

Ababcus, Abbacus, ABBAcus, or Abacus?
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:12pm Tony Coulter:

@ Dean: Wuz a typo -- now corrected. Thanks for the eagle eyes, tho.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/27/18 1:13pm fleep:

That is f-ing Sonny Sharrock!

Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:16pm Tony Coulter:

@ NGH: No Flat Earth Society meeting times or locations are given. I suspect Mr. Cunha was merely being metaphorical.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:17pm Tony Coulter:

@ Dean: F'ing right!
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:17pm Tony Coulter:

Hiya, Scraps!

His style reminds me the younger Ayub Ogada
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:20pm Tony Coulter:

Don't know Ayub Ogada....
  Tue. 3/27/18 1:20pm Dean:

Buddy just sent me a cool photo of Klaus Shulze outside an Australian record store featuring European import LPs. How many do you recognize?
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:22pm northguineahills:

Koffi Olomide, new to me!
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:22pm Tony Coulter:

@ Dean: Nice to see Conrad Schnitzler front and center! (Well, OK: front and right).
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:23pm northguineahills:

@Dean: Only 6 (maybe more if the resolution was better).
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:23pm northguineahills:

make that 9, saw more inside the store.
  Tue. 3/27/18 1:25pm Dean:

If 6 was 9, I don't mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/27/18 1:36pm Rich in Washington:

Ergo sounds a little bit like Ian Anderson here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/27/18 1:38pm Rich in Washington:

this is that guy that did that hilariously spot-on Residents parody.

Jean-Baptiste Barrière released two great LPs in 1979. I was startled recently to discover that he was only 21 at the time. www.discogs.com...

Jean-Baptiste Barrière , new to me, digdug!
  Tue. 3/27/18 1:52pm Psychspaniolos:

a true Pandémonium
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:53pm Tony Coulter:

Ha! Exactly.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:54pm Tony Coulter:

The guy on now (John Wiggins) was the mayor of Reading, PA -- no kidding!!
  Tue. 3/27/18 1:55pm Dean:

I'm more familiar with the other Barrière, the cellist. David Simpson has a nice recital of sonatas.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 1:58pm Tony Coulter:

Total Luc Ferrari action going on here (on this Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith track, I mean).
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:00pm northguineahills:

Whoah, that is weird.

I'll have to check at home (can't remember the artist's name), but I found a nice record from called "Electro-Acoustic" at a Thrift Store. It was actually excellent. A friend and I tracked down the artist and said he wanted nothing to do w/ it, and only djed weddings in St Augustine.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:01pm northguineahills:

I believe I just read about Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith in the Wire recently (I'm still in 2016 issues). I love this chirbling!

Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:04pm βrian:

I'm not going to look.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:05pm Tony Coulter:

It's just a pic of Sarah Kirkland Snider -- who's easy on the eyes.

Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:07pm northguineahills:

Hey, I used to work in what was once known as New Amsterdam!
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:09pm Tony Coulter:

Didn't Billy Joel write a song about that place? "New Amsterdam State of Mind"?
  Tue. 3/27/18 2:10pm Psychspaniolos:

βrian this is for you i.ytimg.com...
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:11pm Tony Coulter:

Guess I'm killing you with mellowness today. I promise to return to harsh, grating industrial noise next week.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:12pm northguineahills:

Off to lunch, going to make saffron rice w/ capers and octopus (and maybe curry, havne't decided yet). See you right before 3.
  Tue. 3/27/18 2:12pm Psychspaniolos:

We know you as a sentimental person Tony
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/27/18 2:12pm chris:

hi, Tony and peeplzz. enjoying the mellow and looking forward to harsh noise!
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:12pm Tony Coulter:

You subdued that octopus quickly, NGH.
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:40pm northguineahills:

Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:51pm Tony Coulter:

Actually, I now realize that there's time for one more short thing after this -- so stay tuned for that as well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Tue. 3/27/18 2:51pm listener james from westwood:

Been crushing a deadline while happily listening, so less chatty than usual, but happy to have gotten it done with fine musical accompaniment!
Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:52pm Tony Coulter:

Music to Crush By. Thanks for showing up, James!

Avatar Tue. 3/27/18 2:54pm northguineahills:

Just finished one early before my lunch break, even though I overslept and didn't get to work until 11. (luckily, it doesn't matter, as long as the work gets done).
  Tue. 3/27/18 2:54pm Dean:

Still going for the mellow, eh?
