This multi-storey storage facility of found sounds, radiophonic samples, tape loops, early electronic music experiments, mechanical folk, cinematic vision, sound design, educated music theory, political pop and high concept art-as-noise successfully layers more musical ideas within its unique structure than one would think possible for a solo artist within any musical genre.

Avatar Wed. 3/7/18 3:16pm david w:

One question I keep hearing answered: You can split both one-time and monthly Swag for Life pledges across multiple shows. But to be eligible for prizes, the split amount has to divide into at least $20/show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 3:19pm Webhamster Henry:

D'oh! I like too many shows!

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 3:27pm listener james from westwood:

Joe McGasko does a great job of sorting all of this out, BTW, if anyone needs to contact him post pledging or post Marathon. (His contact info is in the pledge confirmation you'll get via email)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 3:30pm doctorjazz:

As LJFW said, Joe McGasko is great to contact if there is any problem. I've screwed up my pledges most years, usually send him an email and he straightens it all out (think I've still kept everything in order so far this year...)
Avatar Wed. 3/7/18 3:31pm Flash Strap:

Another pledge coming in from ANDREW in WATERLOO, ONTARIO!

Thanks Andrew!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 3:35pm Andrew Waterloo:

YW... I'm enjoying the accordion
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 3:35pm Scraps:

Joe is great. But why they don't say how you do this, with lots of people have to email Joe.... well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 3:39pm doctorjazz:

Somehow, Klucevsek gets the accordion to sound like anything but.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 3:39pm Scraps:

this accordion solo is great.

what a performance
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 3:40pm Andrew Waterloo:

When you do send a bill you will get a bill, and link, and you fill most of it out. Usually I only contact Joe to work out diving my bill between Swag 4 Life and immediate payment, or just making sure I only have 1 swag for life billing
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 3:41pm Scraps:

i wish there were more experimental music on WFMU. I think that's one of the ways that WFMU is =for=

One of my first, if not my very first, Ridgewood Radio was my accompaniment on a long car ride. It's tracks like Eva's that show why that ride was a magical, spiritually transporting experience that had nothing to do with highways. So glad she and other artists have this show on which to shine, either live or via recorded performance.
Avatar Wed. 3/7/18 3:53pm david w:

Eve, and the whole crew, are soaking that in dear James. Very kind.
Avatar Wed. 3/7/18 3:53pm ruth:

though i'm still confused
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:19pm Scraps:

okay!
Avatar Wed. 3/7/18 4:19pm david w:

@Scraps - timing is not your friend or enemy in this process. Once you are in you are in for all the prizes for the whole show. Maria Teresa went to Stephanie D. Your name is still in the hat!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:20pm Andrew Waterloo:

I like the sound of that
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:20pm Scraps:

oh! well, i hope if i get anything it will be a cd....
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:21pm Stepchild:

the CD is definitely discriminated against...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:24pm Scraps:

yeah, i don't understand how people are in love with vinyl... especially where it's now more expensive.... i don't hear that "warm", supposedly better analog sound
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:25pm Scraps:

but really, i just can't play it anymore, that's all
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:26pm Scraps:

dum de dum dum dum....
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:26pm Stepchild:

what I do like about LPs is (for me) they concentrate attention I will put on a CD or worse a stream, and, slowly, I begin to ignore it
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:27pm Stepchild:

7" 45s for the win there!
Avatar Wed. 3/7/18 4:27pm Flash Strap:

One of the cool things about the vinyl LP is that it's an actual Thing – personally it prompts a very different engagement on several levels

that, and as I collect them I find things that have never been on cd, but that's a dust diver's perspective for sure
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:27pm Andrew Waterloo:

45s are fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:27pm Scraps:

:-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:30pm Scraps:

i don't understand the "actual thing".... it's funny, because i've from the age (54) that i should, apparently
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:31pm Scraps:

i get the "never on cd". when i had to sell my vinyl, i got my vinyl on computer
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:31pm Andrew Waterloo:

I'm in a bit of a weird place where my apprehension to CDs is mostly based on a lack of places to store them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:32pm northguineahills:

My phone took longer then usual to connect to my cordless headphones, so my phone caterwauled Andrew Bernstein startling my coworkers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:33pm Scraps:

andrew, i'm pretty sure my cds take up less space than my vinyl used to...
Avatar Wed. 3/7/18 4:33pm david w:

Nice. Out mission achieved! Terrify America with noise!
Avatar Wed. 3/7/18 4:33pm Flash Strap:

hello again NGH! play the noise by the people for the people
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:34pm Andrew Waterloo:

Scraps.. true.. but the places where I keep records has more space than the places I keep CDs. Mainly because the records is a new thing for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:34pm Scraps:

that's funny, ngh. maybe more funny when at a distance
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:34pm northguineahills:

I have every physical formats (although I got rid of my 8 tracks I acquired at thrift stores). And have years of digital recordings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 3/7/18 4:34pm Andrew Waterloo:
